According to DreamcastLive, Shenmue Passport's online rankings are finally back online for the first time in almost 24 years, meaning we can finally find out who the best forklift driver in the world is
In case you don't remember, back when Sega's groundbreaking open-world action-adventure game Shenmue was first released in the late 90s and early 2000s, it shipped with a bonus disc labelled Shenmue Passport. This featured a wealth of additional content and online features designed to improve the player experience, from character biographies for various background characters and location profiles to helpful messages from Ryo's childhood friend Nozomi, to online leaderboards, and reviews showing you how much progress you have currently made based on your saved data.

2023, Retro-bit released the Sega Saturn Wireless Pro Controller.
2025, Retro-Bit updated their site. The Collaboration page teasing a "Coming Soon". To this day, hasn't changed.
2026, You posted about the LightConn, through it, I found out about DreamMods and the DreamConn S.



I'm starting to feel impatient over Retro-Bit, especially given they have not given dates to wait for. I am tempted to get a DreamConn S, but at the same time, I don't know if Retro-Bit will offer the better product.

I mean, it has happened before. When Sonic Mania was announced, I wanted to "honour it" by playing it with a Mega Drive controller for PC. I figured, "Surely Sega would've released official USBs of their controllers", so I Googled and the closest I can find was the PlaySega controller, so I got a second-hand one off eBay and used it to play Sonic Mania with.

Half a year later, not only did I find out about Retro-Bit but also learned they were working on the Sega Saturn Pro Controller that would be released later.

I felt that if I knew of Retro-Bit at the time, I would not have got the PlaySega controller. I would've gotten either one of their Mega Drive Arcade Pads and/or patiently waited for the Saturn Pro-Controller to be released.

I simply don't want to "spend in haste" when better opportunities are around the corner. I learned patience over the PlaySega thing, but my patience is wearing thin given Retro-Bit has not provided any dates yet, let alone any news if there even will be a Dreamcast Pro Controller. I'm tempted to just get it over with and get a DreamConn S, but I feel that be "spending in haste".
