He was right.

But, while the Sega Saturn may not had been Sega's best console worldwide, it was still a great console. You told me it was still popular in Japan to this day?

Yes, we got more Saturn merchs in Japan than Mega Drive or Dreamcast.
It was the most famous SEGA console in Japan afterall.
Even the SEGA 65th Anniversary LIMITED SHOP in Japan uses Saturn in their beginning of the trailer.

The Sega Saturn controller is also a really nice design. Mostly based after the six-button Mega Drive controller but with shoulder buttons make it ideal for classic gaming... Though, I still prefer Retro-Bit's Pro Controller given some 32-bit to classic-inspired games still need modern controllers to play. (You can play Sonic Mania with a Mega Drive or Saturn controller, but you need a modern controller for Sonic Superstars given the Emerald Powers use the thumbstick.)

There are also games for the Mega Drive and Saturn games such as Ecco or isometric games that are ideal with the Pro Controller than the D-Pad. Though some games, such as NiGHTS was likely inspired by the 3D Control Pad in mind.

Yes. I think Landstalker and Light Crusader are also ideal with the Pro Controller than the D-Pad.
Still couldn't finished them though, they're really hard even when the control is easier. Skill issue, I guess.

KAZe's "Legendary" Sega Saturn Pinball Game 'Last Gladiators' Is Set To Make A Comeback

Quote
The Japanese independent developer BeXide today announced plans to port KAZe Co., Ltd.'s 1995 pinball classic, Digital Pinball: Last Gladiators, to Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC, and Mac later this year, with a new online ranking feature (h/t: 4Gamer/@denfaminicogame).
Digital Pinball: Last Gladiators is one of many pinball simulators developed by KAZe in the '90s, alongside its sequel, Necronomicon, and earlier Super Famicom/SNES games like Super Pinball: Behind the Mask and Super Pinball 2: The Amazing Odyssey.
The game was directed by former Namco composer and KAZe's head of development, Norio Nakagata, who ...

D-pads are always confusing with isometric games. Especially if the characters can only move in four dimensions. Up button either means up-left or up-right.

"Guess Who's Coming To QuakeCon?"

Quote
This year is a particularly important one for id Software. Not only did the company recently celebrate its 35th anniversary, having been established in February 1991, but it is also gearing up to commemorate 30 years of its groundbreaking first-person shooter, Quake, as well as the anniversary of the very first QuakeCon, later this year.
As a result, the company seems to be pulling out the big guns to get people hyped for this year's QuakeCon (taking place from August 6th to 9th, 2026, at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas), announcing in ...

Yeah, but they look good in giving 'illusion' of a 3D game, made them stood out graphically among other games.
