Yeah, it's cool concept and refreshingly new.
And thank God they changed the concept mid in the game.
The initial idea wasn't like that.
At first it's a "Scene of the Crime"-like to an extreme with a billionaire leaving an extremely large sum of money alone in a large house, guarded by a state-of-the-art security system.
In this concept, the billionaire's daughter is staying at the house with her teenage friends when the house is attacked by ninja burglars who are attempting to steal the money.
Through much deliberation, the game evolved into the final augers concept.

Heck yeah augers is a much better concept. I like to imagine augers also suffer decay or their flesh is falling off and the ninja costumes are actually means to "hold them together". I think it's a confirmed thing in the game.

Falling flesh... Yuck. But that will make it a memorable horror scene if there's a video scene of it in the game.

It make an interesting monster, especially foot-soldier monsters, creaturs that require artificial means to sustain themselves... kinda human if you think about it.

Interesting? Yes. But more work for the CGI or make up department since it's a live action kind of game.

I dunno, they can keep it cheap. I imagine Night Trap augers looking like zombies under those ninja outfits. That they need those outfits to keep their flesh from deteriorating and falling off. And those devices they use to siphon blood is because while they're vamperic in nature they are unable to bite their victims. Augers still have physical powers though over stealth and limited agility but looks near-human in comparison to what true vampires can do.

The other alternative is CGI which was more expensive, lol.
But with that kind of idea, it'll be wasted on FMV games.
It needed to be an action game like Ooze or Ghostbuster.

I doubt Night trap will get any form of media adaption though so we'll probably never see augers again.

Who knows someday somebody want to make a sequel of it.
I meant ... even Shaq Fu could get a sequel even though the original game wasn't good.

I thought it was a remake?

Night Trap did get a remastered release for it's 25th anniversary but I doubt it will spawn any sequels from it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAoCOXBE0yY

It's sequel.
The gameplay has changed though from VS Figting to beat 'em ups.
Unlike the prequel, this one is kinda fun to play.

Even if it has sequel it'd be hard sell if they still kept the outdated gameplay.
They should change it like Shaq Fu Reborn.

SEGA Genesis Mini 2 will be in much shorter supply (around one-tenth) than original

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8RGornqWgw

Quote
My questions about Genesis Mini 2 shipments were forwarded to Sega of Japan's corporate office, which eventually confirmed that the new miniaturized console was a "Japan-only project" for the company.
"The Sega Genesis Mini 2 could only be produced in small numbers due to the global semiconductor shortage," reads a letter from the Sega president's office, so the company opted to produce a small Western batch of Genesis Mini 2s alongside its order of Mega Drive Mini 2s.
"The number of units for this project makes up around one-tenth of the total for the previous Genesis Mini," the letter states.

From the archives: In the early '00s a VectorMan title was being planned for the PlayStation 2, but ultimately never came to light.
This bit of artwork for the game was used at E3 to promote it!
