Under the Microscope: Stimpy’s Invention

Quote
The best password systems used strings that were (a) long enough to encode everything important about a game’s state, and (b) short enough to be easily swapped by middle schoolers.
That brings us to The Ren & Stimpy Show Presents: Stimpy’s Invention, the 1993 adaptation of the Nickelodeon cartoon for the Genesis. It uses 14 character passwords that are drawn from a restricted alphabet:

This alphabet leaves out easily-confused characters like I and O, so it’s optimized for jotting down. And it has 32 symbols, a power of ...

That list of real-life superheroes is inspiring and heartwarming. Especially from United States, so hope for better America wasn't just an impossible dream.
As heartwarming and inspiring as it is, it mostly consist of people feeding homeless, dealing with muggings or light crime than anything on Justice League's level. These heroes hardly get any reputation other than being regarded as weirdos. Some of these heroes have quietly retired over the years than commit to it as a lifelong thing.

I'm not saying superheroes like Spider-Man, Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman can't retire if they want to, it's just do IRL superheroes take it as seriously as the ones in comics do? Or regard it as a hobby that they can drop out of if they no longer feel it's worthwhile endeavour?

Also, there are a few IRL heroes that have become famous, but for the wrong reasons. Phoenix Jones for example, was a mix-martial artist crime fighter who was more active in vigilantism, but his downfall was he was arrested for dealing drugs.

Well, the comic book heroes has real visible dangerous villains and even villains from another planets or another universes which can destroy our planet or at least a whole town if they don't do something.
I'm not saying what these IRL heroes doing are not important, but it's just not on a 'if I don't act people are gonna die" scale.

Damn. And he even looks so cool in his costume.

I guess so. It's just in some parts of the world, there is corruption that range from political to criminal and it can get rather violent at times. While I know these IRL-superheroes aren't exactly "super" to deal with such things, well, people like Lex Luthor or Wilson Fisk certainly exist in the world, but no one like Batman or Iron-Man. There are people who are aware of this corruption or abuse of power and just figure "Well, nothing I can do about it." Which, granted, it's true. But all the more reason why I question why there hasn't been individuals who were pushed over the edge enough to be superheroes? Tony Stark is somewhat a poor example given he's regarded more rich than Bruce Wayne yet lacks the training Bruce put himself through, but Bruce also shows what peak human performance can do if one is committed.

I think it's way too late for me to become a superhero, not unless I gain superpowers one way or another, but if I may have some choice in my next life, I'll be a superhero or masked vigilante freedom fighter.

Yeah, and to think he got into vigilantism because he was victim of and witness of various crimes and noticed no one reported them.

I guess let's be grateful he didn't decide to go villain. I believe costume villains will likely be first over costume heroes.

Well, if not in this life there still could be possibilities that you got reincarnated a super powered alien in another galaxy.
Humans aren't the only inteligent being in this universe, right?

Yeah, and to think he got into vigilantism because he was victim of and witness of various crimes and noticed no one reported them.

I guess let's be grateful he didn't decide to go villain. I believe costume villains will likely be first over costume heroes.

But there are story in comics where the protagonist became super hero because there was super villain that he believed only he could beat them.

True, and it's likely aliens are living on Earth, ones who are working with the government. And if you think I'm being particularly kooky about that, well, who knows what supernatural or paranormal things are happening without us knowing, which begs me the question, why no superheroes? Is there a reason why?
But there are story in comics where the protagonist became super hero because there was super villain that he believed only he could beat them.
True, but, again, if Batman is at least "somewhat" in the realm of possible, then why has no one done it yet? As in, oh, so it's crazy for a kid to become a vigilante over witnessing the murder of his parents, well,a very reliable source (ChatGPT), to quote what they said:
Quote from: ChatGPT
“How many real-life American kids have experienced something genuinely comparable to Bruce Wayne?”, I'd expect the answer to be a handful to perhaps dozens in a typical year, not thousands—but that is an informed estimate, not an official statistic

And there's an important distinction: children witnessing one parent being killed is substantially more common than children witnessing both parents being murdered in front of them.
Sure, a dozen per year may not seem like much, and those children likely go through therapy and such to help them adjust from the lost etc, but still "a dozen per year", surely one of them were rich and neglected enough to go Batman!

And yeah, not even ChatGPT is that sure themselves. But I specifically asked "How often does this (kids witnessing parents murder like Bruce Wayne did) happen in America?", the statistics are likely more higher internationally.

May be because every time they have a chance to show up, they're being 'shut down' by governments.
No governments want a superior being that they can't control.

Yes, but let's also remember that Bruce Wayne's parents were the richest person in Gotham.
From this dozen kids, how many of them whose parents are the richest in the town? Probably none.

But if it's the dozen a year is a constant, then by theory of infinity, we'll eventually get the one rich kid who lost his parents and never get the healthy outcome needed to become Batman. So how many years have dozens of children witness parent homicide has happened for?

The theory of infinity applied if humans forever exist on earth. Who knows if human gonna be extinct in year 3000 or 4000.

Antstream Confirmed As The Developer Behind James Pond Legacy: The Pond Is Not Enough

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFggndxGZk0

Quote
It's fair to say that the initial reveal of System 3's The James Pond Legacy: The Pond Is Not Enough didn't go down quite as well as was perhaps expected.
The initial confirmation was accompanied by some blatantly GenAI artwork, and the trailer which followed afterwards was even worse – it not only used the AI art, but set the imagery to a tune which also had the stink of Generative AI.
Much of the anger from fans was directed towards System 3 – indeed, even original James Pond creator Chris Sorrell expressed his displeasure at how the publisher was treating his baby.
However, Time Extension has since learned from more than one source that System 3 isn't involved in the development of the collection, or in the creation of the assets which had engendered such a vitriolic reaction.
Instead, it has contracted the work out to Antstream, the company behind ...
