Well, at least Sonic is coming back in popularity in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Takes time but yeah.
But it was still as intended since eventhough Sonic was designed by the Japanese, the game was really made to appeal Western gamers. That's why they changed the original design from this

to this ...

And it's worked.

Formerly DCEU, now it's DCU.  I guess James Gunn can just decide that.

Yup, he's the boss afterall.

Sonic the Hedgehog #81 is out now!

Quote
The carnival has come to Sequin—this is a party you don’t want to miss! Trouble is brewing: Six of the Chaos Emeralds have disappeared without a trace, and Sonic and Tails are on the hunt for the seventh. They’ve tracked it to the intricate and opulent city of Sequin, where it’s serving as the centerpiece of a citywide carnival. Sonic and Tails hope to catch the mysterious Emerald thief in the act, but they’ve got competition. Shadow and Rouge intend to claim the gem themselves, and they’re not afraid to go through Sonic and Tails—or anyone else—to do it. Who will be the first to the Emerald? New faces, strange secrets, and plenty of adventure await!

True, but kinda sad Sonic was "disowned" from his homelands even if he has become an international icon.

All the more reason why I would think it be interested if he co-directed with Matt Reeves and merge The Batman with it.
But I agree James Gunn will likely have his own Batman, if anything concentrate less on Batman in future projects, which is all the more reason why Reeves to collaborate, so that he can work on movies James Gunn does not have time for.

I read it. All that fuss over a character that ended up one-noted.

Especially on Sonic Wiki discussio where Lunar's gender brought much debate.

I think Sonic is not the only one.
There are others too but somehow I can't remember who.

Other than Batman ... What do you think about Gunn's Supergirl?

She seems completely different compared to the caring and loving "Melissa Benoist" version.

Lunar's design is interesting and eye-catching I gotta admit. But other than that ... nothing's worth remembering.

I like her. She reminds me a bit of DC Superhero Girls Supergirl.

And besides, why have her as another blue girlscout like her cuz and let start out as an awful person but become a great superhero in her own right?

Exactly. It felt like a bit of hype over nothing much.

Aren't awful persons but become great superheroes already done in Gunn's The Suicide Squad?
I'm rather skeptical but I'll give her a chance.

Tbf IDW didn't hype anything, they only shared the art cover of their upcoming book like usual. Fans are the one who's hyping over the new character shown in the artwork.

Well, yeah. But Kara Danvers isn't that awful. She's likely acting out because the loss of Krypton is a more fresh memory to her than for Clark, who she used to babysit when he was an infant. Now Clark is the older cousin and has the reputation of Earth's greatest hero and while she has taken up the S-emblem, is still under his baby-cousin's shadow.

Yeah, well, there was "some" drama over the fact Lunar has non-binary pronouns. I honestly didn't care.

Isn't she showed up drunk in Superman (2025)?
Well I guess we perceived drunken people differently since liquor/booze/alcohol's banned in my country.
It's may be usual things for western people but here ... drunken people usually leads to criminal activity.

She isn't just shown drunk, but that is an enabler for Krypto. Again, I think it's her way of dealing with loss of her planet, albeit poorly.

I didn't know alcohol was banned in Indonesia. Is there, like, "speakeasies" over there?

Yes there are but they sell cocktails (may be mixed with herbs, spices, flowers, and of course fruits, but no alcohol).
Some in international hotels and beaches do sell alcohol (with government permission) but only sell it to foreigners.
Their business license could be revoked if they sell it NOT to the foreigners.
