May Be The Real Halloween Was the Problem We Met Along the Way That Kept Us Awake At Night

I still think it was an absolute huge missed importunity that they didn't make a 2019 Halloween special, or the very least make a "Halloween Comic Fest" exclusive set around the Metal Virus Arc.
They had zombies! One of the most common tropes/monsters for Halloween!


If I made a 2019 Sonic IDW Halloween special, I would have set it about a group of survivors who did not make it to evac in #19 and are hauled up in the Grand Gold Flicky Hotel.
In style of Dawn of the Dead, they haul up in a well-stocked hotel but zombots eventually close in on them, with cameo of Shadow, Charmy and other known zombots, until they manage to escape.

Fortunately, there's no mystery the Chaotix Detective Agency can't solve, especially when they've got a little help from Sonic and Tails!"

It's more about Chaotix group.

GOOD! IDW should embrace Halloween and even Christmas specials.

And even if they don't celebrate Halloween and Christmas on Sonic's world (though there's evidence they kinda do, the Sonic Adventure DLCs come to mind) they could still make stories that have the same feelings and vibes around it.
