Rumour: Shadow the Hedgehog spinoff is in development at Paramount

Quote
The Sonic the Hedgehog movies and the TV spin-offs have been big hits and it seems the next big thing coming from Paramount is a Shadow the Hedgehog spin-off. It is not entirely clear whether this set to be a movie or a TV show, but either could work. Details are scarce on this one, but ...

How would a '90s Crash Bandicoot film would even work? Better of entirely animated.

Yeah animated probably. Though it's also possible with puppets too.

I'm not at all surprised given Knuckles got his own spin-off TV series.
Not only that, with having to wait two years for the fourth movie, a TV series will tide us over until then.

Even i doubt Jim Henson could pull off a movie adaption of a video game.

I'm pretty sure he could.  Jim Henson was a genius.
I always love to see the documentaries of him and Frank Oz when they tried to make the muppet worked outside of the studio.

This scene is part of Shadow: Black Hearted HERO a story written by João Filipe Santiago inspired by Paramount’s Sonic Movies.
Only YOU can help this story become a reality as a full length movie or series, share this video as Shadow: Black Hearted HERO “proof of concept” so we have a chance of getting some recognition and support from Sonic Team to make this dream come true at it’s best!
Trust me, you’ve never seen nothing like Shadow: Black Hearted HERO before.

I think if it's a movie, it'll be direct-to-TV, or Paramount+ in this case. But I believe, like Knuckles, it be a TV series.
Maybe, if lucky, they would get Jim Carrey on board given a headcanon of mine is shadow saves Dr. Robotnik at the nick of time.
But at the same time, as much as I like Dr. Robotnik, I think the fourth movie should have Agent Stone or Neo Metal Sonic as the new main villain and give Dr. Robotnik a break. Have everyone "believe" he is dead and he returns in Sonic 5, or at least 4's post-credit teaser.

That is but an exclusive clip... but the fanfilm itself will be interesting.

I agree.
If Jim Carrey must return in Sonic 4, then gave him another role other than Robotnik.
If he could play Gerald, I'm sure he could play another character (Nega Eggman may be?).

Yeah, challenging indeed for Sonic, but for Crash I think it's still could be done depended on the genre. It could also be half animated like Roger Rabbit, but it will be too expensive.

Yep, it said that it's still “proof of concept”.

Maybe, but again, I'm not saying they should entirely retire Jim Carrey, just give Dr. Robotnik a break in general.
I would especially not want Dr. Robotnik replaced with a parallel version of him. Like what Archie Sonic did.

Oh. i thought it was a clip for the upcoming fanfilm.

As long as there's a big actor replacing him in the sequel if he's not participating.
Jim Carrey alone brought so many non Sonic-fans to watch the movie.
I knew this because I joined Jim fans group in Facebook.

Honestly, I think it be better off entirely animated.

Of course, the problem is still same though : nobody in movie business at that time wanted it.

No one can replace Jim at this point. he's too big. So big he had to play two roles for Sonic 3.

Probably for the best if they were not ready for it.

Hard, but not impossible. Carrey maybe a gem for the series, but as I think, they should give him a break and concentrate on another villain for the film.
Such as Neo Metal Sonic.

Neo Metal Sonic isn't as popular as Eggman and Shadow (and Sonic 3 had them both).

It would still be interesting if Neo Metal Sonic had a role similar to Emperor Metallix, given we have seen multiple Metal Sonic at Amy's mid-credit teaser.

‘Persona’ movie? SEGA sets sights on global revival with remakes, movie hits, and a ‘Super Game’

Quote
Last year, the film Sonic the Hedgehog 3 starring Jim Carrey as the villain zipped to the top of the North American box office in one of the best December openings in years.
It followed the first live-action Sonic movie in 2020, as Sega cashes in on a video-game movie craze that saw The Super Mario Bros. Movie, based on the Nintendo characters, become the second-highest grossing film of 2023.
“Shinobi” is also being turned into a film, while Sega’s “Yakuza” game series has been adapted for television.
When asked if cult franchise “Persona” could be next, Sega’s Utsumi said fans should “stay tuned”.
“We are talking to a lot of interesting potential partners. So we are under some discussions, but ...”
