I loved Tears (haven't yet had time to play Wind) - thought controlling 2 characters at once was great fun, and the game lookeed far more Shining than NEO or EXA (which I had no patience for).

...and I could sing the praises of Feather for hours on end, absolutely adore that game - if only it had been released in English, I know it would have been a hit here in the West.

All the 5 titles sux!

Tears, Wind, Neo & EXA. Plus Hearts...

None have the Shining feeling. Bad musics, bad SE, bad systems and gameplay. Bad story. Bad programming. Bad designing.

Most of the things on them are BAD!

I had more fun playing the ones for the cell phones.

Ah, Feather was good at the beginning, but I quit playing it on the middle. It got boring...

Oh, I was also playing Cross Raid. It's not good too. And it's a waste of money. Too much expensive to play on the arcades a title which is inferior compaired with a lot of good games on the home consoles.

Sega has not made any comments about the leaked information, but people already knows where it came from.

Another bunch of games info were leaked from the same source, but they had been announced officialy some time ago.

Rumours says that Sega is prepairing this new Shining title to be announced at Tokyo Game Show, or near that ;p

It will not be canceled like "Shining Force Gear" for Wii.

Shining Force II – 1993 Developer Interviews

Hiroyuki Takahashi – Producer/Writer
Shugo Takahashi – Director/Programmer

Recently translated by shmuplations

Quote
In October of 1993, we finally released Shining Force II to the world.
Because the development ran in parallel with both Shining Force Gaiden games, it was, if I’m being perfectly honest, an incredibly difficult project.
Nor were the in-house development challenges the only ones we faced; on top of it all, our rivals on the Super Famicom, Final Fantasy V and Dragon Quest V, had also just been released.
The psychological burden of knowing we’d end up being criticized for the quality of our game in comparison to these big league RPGs made the Shining Force II development far from relaxing.
Nevertheless, the experience of having endured those many pressures made crossing the finish line all the sweeter.
When I look back at Shining Force II today, there are still points I’m unsatisfied with, but overall, I think we managed to create a game that fully satisfied us in that moment of time.

SEGA Game Gear Micro Hardware Review – Bite-Sized Nostalgia

Quote
Visually, the yellow model with tis green buttons just pops and looks incredibly cool. It’s a shame that it is also the least import friendly.
Pre-loaded with three Shining Force games (Shining Force Gaiden: Ensei Jashin no Kuni e, Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya and Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict) as well as the puzzle/RPG Nazo Puyo Arle no Roux,
this is the model that Japanese players are likely to spend the most time playing and westerners are going to find the most inaccessible.
None of the titles are pick up and play unless you can read Japanese.
Unless you are a hardcore Shining Force fan, or can read Japanese, avoid this model unless you are buying the full set.

Are there any fans of the reboot T2 Shining here? (Soul to Resonance)

I'd love to know how King Roan became Dillon!

I love Tony Taka's Shining series, but kinda dissapointed that many of them were only available in Japanese, so I haven't played them all.

My favorite is the latest, Shining Resonance Refrain.
I love the character development (they are all unlikable at first, but somehow as the story progress, their characteristic started to change) and how calm & relaxing the soundtrack is.

Agreed it's a great game and the soundtrack is amazing.

I've played all in the modern reboot with the exception of Shining Road and Shining Wind X what with them being Japan Mobile games.

They cover a lot of plot points.
