I played for 15 minutes of Marvel vs Capcom 3 and it feels really weird.

Doesn't it feel like the game just randomly plays itself, regardless of what's your input?

No, not at all. I've been playing it ass-loads recently and never really felt like that.

Anyway, that's really all I've been playing apart from a very little bit of Back to the Future episode 1, which is pretty good.

@ Sanus: Not sure why you find the lock-picking hard, it's just a matter of getting the pin in the right location and slowly testing the lock.

But is there some AI configuration in that game?

I'm sure it was the full PS3 version playing in the kiosk. I tagged one of my characters out(didn't know how that happened) and one of my tag partners kept getting into the match... It just felt weird.

George, are you serious?

More data being loaded has nothing to do with the speed. The game accesses the content when it is promted to, it does not load ahead in stuff like Uncharted does, unless you did not know of the dozens of PlayStation 3 games that require installs? It is the first home game console to require it so...

It would have to be redesigned to play like the other versions do, or just let you install it. I have no idea why it is not an option.

Wait... are you fucking serious?

Why does the Bluray speed matter when the DLC is not even read off of a disc?

The DLC issues also plague the 360 & PC versions of the game. Not as bad as the PS3, but still pretty bad. How can a bluray be to blamed for DLC (DOWNLOADED CONTENT) not working as well, but have tons of other games with 0 installs work fine? Don't you think the developers are at fault?

Oh... right. It is called shitty programming. Also you comparing Bluray vs. DVD 'read speeds' by just seeing how 'fast' they say on the box is wrong. Totally wrong. The reason 12x dvd speed is better than 8x is because of the data it reads. Faster = more data. Bluray is slower speed disc, with more data transfer.

Or are you serious?

The DLC is on the disc in the in the GOTY release.

I think you misunderstood me however. I was talking about the entire game running on the PlayStation 3 specifically, not the DLC. You did not mention it at all in your second post, so that is weird.

[youtube:2sexr0ep]vgYJZA5J74Q[/youtube:2sexr0ep]

Anyways, I played a lot more of the game and have not had really any issues yet, so I assume it is related to how much content is on your save file (maybe it runs worse on some versions of the console?). I am not sure what the point of having items or bodies lie in the same place for 100+ hours is meant to accomplish, but it is pretty neat I guess.

Also Yakuza 3 keeps getting more amazing. The sunbstories are almost good enough for their own game completely.

^The Hitman Missions in Yakuza 3 were just... awesome. I played the shit out of those.

I was extremely pleased to see the weapon inventory system return in the Yakuza 4 demo, can't wait to go on more legendary weapon quests.

Tossed my old PS2 in the closet and hooked up my original XBOX, been enjoying Otogi, Gunvalkyrie and Crazy Taxi 3. :D Shame these aren't BC on the 360.

Question: is TJ&E 3 worth picking up?

It is not bad or anything, but there are much better purchases you could make with that money.

It is pretty good with co-op though, but is pretty long. You seemed pretty bummed out with how you have so many games you have not completed.

On what I am playing. FUCK SOME OF THE EXTRA UNLOCKABLES IN YAKUZA 3 ARE SOME OF THE HARDEST THINGS IN A GAME EVER RAGE RAGE RAGE

Amazing game.

Did someone say original Xbox suggestions?

Splinter Cell
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Splinter Cell quickly became one of my all time favourite series with these games. Even the mediocre Double Agent and wildly different Conviction couldn't hurt it.

Also, get Knight of the Old Republic, one of the best RPGs I have ever played. Ever. And you like Star Wars so it's even better.

Oh yes, and if you can find Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes, that's a really awesome but devilishly hard game.

I spent so much time trying to get the batting cage hard course perfected so I could get that maple wood for the Patriarch's Bat.

Also, I just got glasses, and I tried the Yakuza 4 demo with them on, and HOLY SHIT I CAN ACTUALLY SEE WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITHOUT HAVING TO SIT CLOSER TO THE SCREEN AND IT LOOKS GLORIOUS. I want Yakuza 4 soooo much now.

Annnnnyway...
What should I play next? I'm thinking Uncharted 2, but I also really want to play Assassin's Creed 2/Brotherhood finally and Valkyria Chronicles. Which one is shortest, because I'll be going away for about 4 days on the 23rd of March and when I get back it's gonna be All Yakuza 4, All the Time. It even so happens that I've got that week off work, so I'm not fooling around when I say I'm literally going to be playing it most of my waking day.

Got that one dude, played quite a bit back in the day, loved it. DIdn't complete it but I played more than enough to enjoy it a lot. Perhaps I'll return to it this weekend.  :afroman:

What about KOTOR 2? Also a top game.

I started Uncharted 2 just a few hours ago, I love it already!

@MadeManG:
Valkyria Chronicles is pretty long (around 40 hours give or take), so you might want to hold off if you want to play Yakuza 4 right when it comes out.

^I figured that would be the case, so I've started Uncharted 2 instead. Bloody fantastic so far. Once again, it doesn't seem to have one single outstanding gameplay factor, but the combination of everything just works so well. Not to mention the characters and story are brilliant, it feels like playing an Indiana Jones movie.

I played through it on co-op. I'd probably describe it as playing a lot like a faster, and better looking version of the first game in the series. I'd say it's worth playing through if you can find it for pretty cheap.

That's basically what the Uncharted series is all about. Story, presentation, characters, and a bunch of gameplay styles coming together to make something great. Glad you're enjoying it :D.
