Playing through the Halo trilogy in a row before Halo Reach comes out (next month).
I am about half way through Halo, and I have to say I am kind of just now 'getting' the game. I mean, I always liked it enough, but now I am just really really starting to understand just why it is considered one of the best ever. The only thing that does not really hold up today is the graphics, everything else is outstanding enough to be considered great even if it was released just now. I had this same kind of revelation with Revenge of Shinobi, which I did not like growing up.
I am honestly not very excited to play Halo 2 though. While I think the multiplayer is better, the campaign is really not anywhere near as good and is generally just boring in comparison... Though it has been years, so a lot could be different now. Maybe.
As for Halo 3, I was thinking about maybe getting some people together to play through Legendary. It would be fun, that is for sure.
Not sparked by anything said here: I'm going to have to facepalm over how many folks think $15 is a rip-off for an XBLA title.
Seriously. A newly developed game that offers hours of gameplay priced at $15 is too expensive? I remember value titles on the Dreamcast that cost $20. With inflation in mind, games like HTH, LIMBO and Snoopy Flying ace should be $25 to $30. Instead, we get them for the lower than past budget title price of $15. Also, devs gotta make money somehow.
I disagree in the case of Limbo. That game has very basic gameplay which means no technical and physical exploration like you would see in the Sonic trilogy. There is not much to the game outside of just beating it, and once you have there is no real reason to return to the game practically. The cherry on top is that the game is literally around 4 hours long. There is a walkthrough of the game where the guy playing dies a few times on YouTube that is only seven videos long, and most do not reach the 10 minute limit even!
There are tons and tons of XBLA games that are much larger with bigger and more deserving gameplay for every ones money. Snoopy is a good example in that it is only $10 while it has much more content to go by. I am not saying the $15 price is wrong for anything on there, I would gladly recommend Shadow Complex to anyone who owns the console.
46 hours of Mass Effect 2. I think I did everything except the DLC. Holy shit this game is awesome. This generation has been around since 2006 and only in 2010 I got to play what I would consider two great games. The other is the one with that crazy witch everybody here seems to hate.
Bullet Witch?
