Is it normal for my PS3 to keep dropping the connection to a access point that is two stories below?
If so, is there anyway to amplify the signal?

This is different, you hate the game exclusively because you like SEGA's IPs so much and feel it could have represented the company better.

Does it happen with a computer? There should be some signal strength setting on your access point. Try that. Try changing the channel too, might help. Two floors seems a bit too far though. You're probably better off getting a second access point on the floor between the PS3 and the original AP.

That's what he has to do for his computer at least.  After that, everything else in his area can connect to his computer for the wireless connection.

My connection is two stories higher then the router. (Computer in attic, router in basement)

I was not talking about PS2 or PS1. I was talking about PS3.

The PS3 has had its own issues with failures , only with the PS3 it's called the ["yellow light of death"] And unlike with the 360 if you get that , and the console is more than a year old , you have to pay £80 for it to be fixed.

But I think with the new Slim and Jasper models , these stories are really a non-issue now

3 year for certain problems. But not disc read errors that me and a few friends have gotten.

For the Major problem that dogged the old SKU 360 . And I've had disc read errors on my PS3  (hello Heavy Rain) , my 360 (Ninja Gadien II) , Wii (Smash bro),  and pretty much every CD-Based console , the worst being the Dreamcast . It happens,   and in some cases, its not the console , but poor Quality control with the discs them self's .

That's good then , trouble is for most developers they aren't 1st Party, or In-House . So like I say , most games load faster on the 360 and you don't have to wait for games to install (which took the piss with the likes of DMC)

I don't really like LIVE too much. Cross game chat is the only thing I like. Everything else seems clumsy and really badly orginized. NXE is possibly the worst menu system in the history of menus.

I'll have to disagree with you , For easy of use, access to friends , sending  Invites , chats  LIVE is simply miles out in front of SONY . I do have to laugh there's like a 5 sec delay, when looking at mates Trophies on my PS3 , trying to read messages a pain inthe ass. LIVE is miles out in front , and always has been since its launch . I'll give SONY credit for the number of Online players some of its Big games  support , like KZ II, MAG, GT 5 Pro, and Motostorm though

It is true that Sony has some of the best exclusives, but 360 is doing ok too

They've both got top games , and great exclusives now. Its really take you pick

I still think MS needs to drop their Live Fee, but really, I would rather pay than use Wii's service.

They don't need to drop it , They just need to half the Sub price imo . LIVE is far and away the best online service there is , just overpriced

I should probably re-phrase that as, they need to drop the price for online gaming. I think if they want to charge for access to netflix and all the other goodies that's okay, but just to play any game online should be free IMO.

Actually after a couple of hours my PS3's internet connection stabilized. Hope it stays that way.

It could work but the signal would be weak anyway and that doesn't help when you want to play a game online. I think your best shot is a second AP, they're not hard to set up at all.

Either that your you steal the set-top-box from your living room.
