I see... so Sega might be making new installments to old series like Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio that offers competitive MMO play?

Yes, but both new Crazy Taxi and new Jet Set Radio are in the early stages of creation and could still be canceled and changed into other franchises.

Yes. I kinda agree with this article :

The Simpsons Road Rage was a definite copy, but it sort of had the right idea.

I really do think that Crazy Taxi’s gameplay is fun and I definitely believe that it demonstrates pretty brilliant arcade game design. …That’s the thing: we’re dealing with an incredibly fun gameplay experience that desperately needs a game to be built around it.
Though Simpsons: Hit and Run may not have been considered a classic, it actually did a great job of taking the Crazy Taxi formula and putting it into an actual game. Once you did well enough in one level (a portion of Springfield), you’d unlock another level, which was a different part of the city, and so on.
This brought to the table a feeling of progression, something I think Crazy Taxi could use.

A Crazy Taxi game based on a rip off of a Crazy Taxi game? Why not at this point. =P
Does make me wonder if they'll consider a competitive multiplayer modes.
Or if they consider a story mode, how will that work?

A  multiplayer mode may where there is a competition on who could make most money on some period of time, or who brought the most passengers, or just simply racing between two cars (but that will be boring).

Story mode would need enemies or rivals... Because if the story's just an endless business management simulator like Crazy Taxi Tycoon, it wouldn't be interesting at all for people who crave suspense and drama in the story.

Hm... remember Die Hard with a Vengence from the Saturn game Die Hard Trilogy? What if a story mode had something like that? Taxi drivers who have to make a living while also assign jobs to ram stuff and make them explode. Maybe an enemy coroprate... or just Uber drivers or something.

Competitive mode, I can imagine 2-6 drivers driving around the city. The aim of the game is to make more money than your competitors and ramming them is fairplay.

Yes, it could work. Or the driver's secretly also a spy from some kind organization.
While taking passengers also searching for targets.

I wouldn't go that far to make them spies, espionage or anything. Or at least they will occaisonally work for some law enforcement. Like some of your passengers to pick up can either be a cop, a terrorist or thrill seekers that will ask for an objective other than a destination. Such as "Stop that car!" or "Crash into that!" or "Drive off this ramp!" sort of thing.

As for a proper story, I dunno. I imagine most taxicab businesses hate Uber so maybe a parody of Uber (I'm thinking "Oobre") made into an antagonist.

Yeah, Uber is something that wasn't existing back then
It would be nice to put them in the movie / new game,
of course unless the setting of the movie / new game is still in 90s.
