Here's Resident Evil 4 Running On Dreamcast
"The historic gaming blasphemy to end all blasphemies"

Quote
We've seen a few "what if?" tech demos for the Dreamcast in the past, including Virtua Fighter 4 and Final Fantasy XII, but this latest effort is seriously impressive.
As reported by @falco_girgis, Esppiral and PH3NOM have created a demo of Capcom's Resident Evil 4 running on Sega's last home console. The project began when PH3NOM got a very early test demo running in their own engine and posted the file online for others to try out. This demo was apparently created in just a week.
A couple of days later, PH3NOM had teamed up with Esppiral ...

In real life Echidnas only live in Australia and New Guinea though so the theme of the echidna clan having limited territory's kinda fit.
Not to mention that they're also threatened species.
While the short-beaked echidna is still common, all long-beaked species are threatened by habitat loss, cars, and hunting.
True, but some Echidna culture is exaggerated. Pachacamac's tribe look Aztec to me. As far as I'm aware, there's no echidna in South America.

Yes, but there are no hedgehogs or hedgehog-like species who are native to Latin America so they have to settle ones from overseas.

That's true. But Sonic's world consist of regular animals, as seen in badniks or around the Savanah Citadel and Cool Edge, as well as higher sentient beings of animals that Sonic and his friends are a part of which, for convenience’ sake, we'll call Mobians.

So while mobians tend to identify as animals, as Sonic identifies as a hedgehog, doesn't mean they live in countries or environments expected of their animal-counterparts. Therefore, culture and history around them may not be same to humans or animals.

Though, if Echidna culture was inspired by various world cultures, it doesn't really make sense why Knuckles' Clan was based on Aztec culture while the neighbouring Sandopolis Clan was based on Ancient Egyptian culture. The Aztecs were Mesoamerican, which is ancient South America and Egypt is located in North Africa. That's roughly 12,000 to 12,300 kilometers apart from one another.

We don't know how big Mobius planet is. If it's as big as Jupiter then 12,000 kilometers weren't that far by the planet's standard.

I'm simply calling them "mobians" for convenience. The games claim to take place on Earth. I believe a different kind of Earth, but still same in size and landmass.

What about movie version where SOnic came to earth? Where is Sonic from if not from Mobius planet?

Hideki Naganuma Reveals Low Salary as Reason for Leaving SEGA

Quote
Hideki Naganuma, CEO of Funky Fresh Beats and composer for Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future, stated that his low salary was the reason he left SEGA.
The statement was made in response to a fan question.
He then also said, "When I left SEGA, social media didn’t exist yet. It was thanks to social media that I discovered I had fans for my music. Thank you."

Oh, he is from Mobius. It's confirmed in the novel adaptions.

I'm just saying, regardless the games or continuity, it's simply easier calling them "mobians" instead of "animal people" or "anthropomorphic animals", especially if the terms can be confused with characters from furry community.

SEGA doesn't have an official term for it?

Couldn't he get a raise?

He most likely already asked but SEGA said no. This was happened during a period when SEGA almost went bankrupt afterall.

As far as I'm aware, no. Sonic Boom once refered to them as "animal people", but whenever that's Boomiverse continuity exclusive or not, it's unconfirmed. Most Sonic fans simply refer to Sonic and his kind as "mobians" purely for the convenience of it and to differentiate from anthropomorphic animal people of the furry community.

Ah, that's true. But hey, Sega are better off financially now, he could always ask again.

I wish they could name it ... to settle the naming difference. Most of my friends called them 'animals' instead of mobians.

He's enjoyed his life as a freelancer now.
He said he didn't want to return to work fully for SEGA and somehow he still worked secretly on a few SEGA projects with different names.
For example he's involved in making music for Super Monkey Ball 3D (2011) with "skankfunk" alias name.
I don't know the reason why he had to use alias names though.
