Well, Sega were still pointing out their handheld had colour. They should be thankful Nintendo didn't point out how many batteries it consumed.

Nintendo didn't have too since sales-wise Game Boy's already far winning, unlike Genesis vs SNES where the sales number competition is still fierce.

That's fine. Neither was I given I grew up with only the free channels back then, which only consisted of four channels. (BBC1, BBC2, ITV, S4C)

They actually had quite a few channels. Four channels as well as a news channel, parliament, children (CBBC) and preschool (Cbeebies).

I dunno if any other country has this, certainly not America, but here, the BBC enforce a television licence. It may sound like more nanny-state stuff, but as far as I'm aware it's always been like that since televisions were introduced to Britain.
My family used to have a television licence, but we cancelled it years a go. Especially given BBC are forward with all woke and political correction stuff. Practically ruined Doctor Who over it.

If I remember correctly I've read that BBC bragged that they fundamentally shaped modern British culture, especially in standardizing the English language and creating a shared sense of national time.

They did. The BBC holds specific statutory powers to collect and enforce the television licence fee, but it does not have general police or state authority. So while BBC have enforcement officers to prosecute those who watch live TV illegally in UK, they are not police officers, so you may deny them entry to your home.

As for using the internet to watch whatever shows on YouTube, that's fine. And watching TV shows on "Free movie and TV" sites such as 7Reels or SeeFlix, those sites are legal grey-areas, especially given they're not "live" television.

Well, actually here's only rich kids have Game Boy or Game Gear back then. We're lucky if we could have NES or Mega Drive since most of us have go to arcade if we want to play game (or just watching people play games). And no, most of arcade centers weren't friendly place like this ...



It's a only grown men place where we could ended up being mugged if we stay too far from the cashier's / guardian's place so sometimes we went without bringing money at all or spent the quarters right away until none's to be taken.
