I'm too lazy to do manual fix (fan mod/fan patch).
If the game company doesn't provide the fix then I just move on to another games, there are still a lot of them waiting to be played.
Unless it's a game I'm dying to play but that's such a rare ocassion.
To be fair while Nintendo games are optimal for the Switch 1 or 2, VALVe likely knew full-well the steam Deck would not be optimal for every game on Steam and I can't really blame them for that. I mean, if you check Store Pages, you'll see they've added "STEAM DECK COMPATIBILITY" with (i) for games that are "playable" (but not without problems) and () for games that are optimal for Steam Deck. But, by technically, the Steam Deck is perhaps a handheld console with the biggest library of games available for it.

That's right. That "STEAM DECK COMPATIBILITY" support are really helpful for deciding on buying something.
I was kinda dissapointed when Phantasy Star Online 2 and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection weren't supported, but thankfully most of SEGA and Capcom games are supported.

Most indie and retro games weren't supported though.
I searched some games that I used to play as a kid in my old IBM PC XT (with DOS as operating system) and all of them couldn't be played in Steam Deck.

Well, at least my wallet is saved because of that.

It could be possible however that VALVe will make more games compatible in the future. I mean, I don't think they can legally modify the games themselves, but "Controller Support" allows players to set a game's controls to be more comfortable with what they're used to (such as me using my Adaptive Joystick + Mouse combination for first-person view games, especially for games without or strictly against controller support). They could probably make Steam games more compatible with the Steam Deck in the future without legally changing the games themselves.

Either that, or perhaps there will be fan-made mods for games to work properly on the Steam Deck. Though none I've heard of so far.

Given I'm not an out-and-about sort of gamer, I'm more interested in getting a Steam Frame. I'm curious if VALVe will update SteamVR over it or if they will make the various VR games they have "native" to Steam Frame, just as they have made regular games native to Steam Deck.

Since they have experiences with Steam Deck, I believe Steam Frame has a huge advantage over its competitors like the Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro by focusing on being a "streaming-first" hybrid device that acts as a "Steam Deck for your face," designed specifically to bring the entire Steam library—both VR and traditional flatscreen games—into a wireless headset.

I don't know if the Steam Frame is as portable as the Steam Deck. Can't imagine myself sitting in a waiting room or at a train station with the thing on my head, oblivious to the last train home. But I do want to give a big middle-finger to Meta if I could.

I'm not VR-tech savvy, so I don't know if the Steam Frame is absolute cutting-edge over Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro. But even if Meta surpasses it in 5 years, I'll be happy if the Steam Frame is simply a great VR headset that lasts for years to come.

I would be still using my Oculus Rift S if I could, but (and I admit, I can't prove it, but some believe so) I believe Meta "bricked" my Oculus Rift S. I wouldn't mind at all still using an old VR headset as long as it worked fine with VR games. I could've brought a new VR headset, but at the time I heard of the rumours of VALVe's upcoming headset so that's why I've been absent from the VR-scene all this time. And I'm glad to have waited. Even if it's not out just yet.

Though, if I was a bit wiser at the time, I should've got a Valve Index instead of an Oculus Rift S to begin with.

Of course the portability will not be entirely like Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch.
I meant portability in a sense there is an option where we couldn't play it without any cable.
Internet might still be required though.
May be it's more like Playstation Portal ... but in your face!

That is fine, I still intend to use the Steam Frame as a regular VR headset. As in, playing my PC games directly with the headset.

But I wouldn't mind playing it with the computer off every now and again. In fact, as long as the pillow won't block any vents or apply too much pressure that may damage it, the idea of lying comfortably in my bed with the Steam Frame playing games, even with just the Steam Controller (which I also intend to get) than the Steam Frame controllers, sounds really nice thing to do.

What about the price? What if turned out the prices were expensive?

VR headsets are usually pricey, so I expect no more than £1000 at least.
The Steam Controller is a premium controller, so I imagine no more than £200.

I won't dox how much money I have, but I have enough savings for frivolous things. Steam Frame, Steam Controller and whenever or not Retro-Bit will release a Dreamcast Pro Controller, I can afford it all.
In fact, I should be spending or else too much money will lead me to problems.

That's weird, too much money shouldn't lead someone to problems, lol.
Once I had a debt so much that's keeping awake at night and having trouble to sleep.

Eh, I'd rather keep my income to myself. Let's just say I'm living rather comfortably. It's all government approved, so I'm not doing anything shady.

Point is, I'm not "rich" (big houses, fancy clothes and cars, doing lines off a hookers clunge, whatever the definition of "rich" is), but I still got cash to burn if I wanted to.

That's a nice way to live. And extra cash is always important. When one day there comes a time where "cash is a king", we'll have no trouble.

Never heard that saying before. Doesn't cash already rule our day-to-day lives? The fact food and water are absolute essentials to our daily lives, but not given for free, I bet government would put a price on air if they could.

It's a term attributed to billionaire investor Alex Spanos and popularized in corporate finance to emphasize that free cash flow is the most important indicator of financial health.

Panzer Dragoon fan art found in the January '96 issue of GamePro.
