This is actually a long way coming, I have been following this announcement for a couple of years. The game has always been billed as the ‘spiritual successor’ to Rez, one of his more acclaim pieces of work by fans. He was suppose to announce the project called QJ with Atari, but that fell through and Mr. Mizuguchi is now working for Ubisoft, who will finally announce his new game in LA tomorrow.
His tweet:
“Q Entertainment’s new game to be revealed on Monday @5pm PST at the LA Theater. Set your clocks now! Return to SYNESTHAESIA!!”
It sucks to see someone that used to make great games for SEGA leave the company, but its also sad to see SEGA not try to scoop that talent back. Regardless of publisher, I’m still looking forward to seeing his game and what he will create. What about you guys?

If it's a sequel to Rez, I'll be picking it up even if THQ was publishing it. I'm just amazed that it's really happening.
I'm interested.
I'm kind of hoping it's not a 360 exclusive but I get the feeling that it will be.
All of the games he has made since he left SEGA have sucked a lot. Why do people care about him anymore?
@Uranus
WHAT! meteos fucking owns ! and even lumines was great !
Mizuguchi leaving had everything to do with gaming going mainstream and Sammy changing the corporate culture and organization to match so art and innovation had to take a back seat to cranking out casual titles and Sonic sequels.
Sega's independent studio organization of old turned out all of those dreamy games, but it turned out that a shifting industry wasn't interested in creativity and innovation.
Mizuguchi is relegated today to producing niche titles like this hoping some big publisher back it with enough marketing power to generate hype and sales.
it's not a new SC5 but every Mizuguchi's game is more than welcome! More than excited about this, can't wait for tomorrow 😀
oh, @Sega Uranus, the games he released with Q? are great imho even if you have to see them more as experiments or art than games. E4 has an innovative gameplay and indeed is very addictive
Cool looking forward to this announcement.
