This is very, very good news! Huzzah!

  3. Hooray!

Even if it is only downloadable, I’d gladly pay a premium price for this! All the accessories… Shenmue references and SEGA consoles…

    Bring on 2012!

  4. George says:

Or they have to worry about used game sales.

Sonic CD and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown announced within 12 hours of one another? Damn, it is so good to be a SEGA fan right now. What is next? Border Break and Shining Force III? Actual release dates for Monster World IV and Revenge of Shinobi?

Although, I am mildly worried about the pricing on VF5FS. Final Showdown has so much content, it is pretty much just screaming to have players buy individual costume packs, and I know SEGA is aware of that.

I never do this, but I plan to get this on both platforms, because I know there are really great VF players on both. 🙂

If I hear better news this week, I’ll eat my hat!

The Virtua Fighter series has sold over 30 million. People care, but SEGA is unsure of the market with so many new fighters lately, and this is also a good way to test the download platforms. XBLA and PSN are really taking off and SEGA really wants to support this but they are very unsure on how to handle it as there is no really major success stories for direct arcade conversions, especially newer ones.

I would prefer a retail release, but SEGA is actually pretty shit with packaging lately so meh.

  8. Suzuki Yu says:

please SEGA we need a perfect release with all the contents ..
also the Awards should be earned through the Online Ranking Match and not in that bloody quest mode please.
