Yes that spinning wheel of electrical death is quite challenging. I am sure that you will get through it soon.

Resonanace of Fate

After beating one insanely difficult boss in Chapter 11. I've been a couple of side-missions and some insame leveling up.

So far, so good.

Just finished Fallout 3 the other night and am on the last DLC, after which I will shelf the game for a few months. Great game, but some of the issues are weird and the PlayStation 3 version is pretty weak, but I found ways around the problems. The story and characters are not really all that interesting or good, but the setting is wonderful and I really would like to get every Trophy in this one day.

Kind of stopped playing Valkyria alltogether because the fights just last so long. I know you can save, but it is just silly how I am half way in and the last fight I had was 2 and a half hours long. WTF?? Good game though, but I have a lot of issues with it outside of that.

Arc the Lad. So far I really like this a lot and the quick battles are very refreshing in comparison to Valkyria. It has aged kind of bad, with awkward level graphics and somewhat low quality music that can get annoying when it repeats, but I like it. I want to get the other two games in the series, but I heard the second one is really dark, and I am not sure if I am in the mood for another dark RPG right now...

Strania - The Stella Machina. I know none of you have heard of this, it is an XBLA game that came out just today, by the creators of some of the most expensive Dreamcast shmups around. I was not sure about this after their last game (Mamoru, I thought it was awful), but it is really great fun so far and has outstanding music. The style really reminds me of a mix of Radiant Silvergun, Gunstar Heroes and various other Genesis releases - I love it. I am going to have a rough time trying to complete this one!

BRING ON RADIANT SILVERGUN XBLA!

Yeah I bought Castle Crashers along with Dead Nations... played a bit of the later, but Yakuza 4 is taking all my time (18 hours in, right in the end of the Akiyama part 1). 3 more to go ;3 .

We need to play a game of Dead Nation sometime in the future. It is great fun when you can handle the madness.

Sonic Colors.

Loving it so far. I love how it kicks off with an action stage as soon as you hit start. Last Sonic game to do that was, what, Sonic 2 (3 and S&K had a file menu after you hit start)?

Gameplay is the best of Unleashed, with most of the problems stripped away. Only complaint is the quick step, which should have been on the triggers. Still, having a lot of fun with it. Also, I love how the Eggman Arcade bonus stages use Sonic 1 maps.

I've been playing obscene amounts of Yakuza 4. I could go into detail, but there's just too much good about this game to even begin.

Picked up Madworld for $9. Saw No More Heroes 2, but thought I'd hold off until I beat Colors and Madworld.

Question: Should I just get No More Heroes 2 or should I start with the first one?

I'd probably start off with the first one. It's a bit rough around the edges, but has more memorable bosses.

Cool, thanks!

I'm loving how all the third party Wii titles are like $10-$20. For the price of one new 360 game, I could get every SEGA lightgun game and a few other titles.

Only thing that sucks is how expensive the Nintendo titles are. Idjits.

Seriously, I went into look at the Wii section the other day and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption a game that came out several years ago is still $50. =P

Yeah, WarioWare Smooth moves, released in '07, is $50 on Amazon and $30 used at GameStop. Meanwhile, same price could get me Let's Tap, MadWorld and Ghost Squad.

Red Dead Redemption needs to have check points when you travel or spawn you close to where you died. I hate traveling 10 mins, get killed, travel again.

Nintendo makes the highest quality games on Wii for sure, but I barely own any of them because I almost always feel ripped off spending more than $20 on a Wii game when I can get a $15 Xbox 360 game with dozens more hours of gameplay, online features and better everything (mechanics, controls, graphics...).

Even the 'hardcore' games like No More Heroes with great style pale horrifically in comparison to HD action games.

Anyways,

I got X-Men arcade with Microsoft's cool sale. The game is slightly worse than I expected, the level gimmicks suck (literally every level has an elevator...), the music is a mix of incredible and hilariously poor, the action is hard to follow and feels messy, and the point system is broken completely.

All of that said, I had great fun with it and am going to get each achievement. For $2.50 and like five hours of gameplay mixed with the couple hours I spent finding out just who Dazzler was I could not ask for a better bang for my buck. Great port as well, I am surprised considering BackBone's history.

I think the idea of Nintendo not lowering prices is that they don't want people to wait for a markdown or expect one and not buy the game when it's new. It kinda makes sense, and when you consider how well a lot of their older titles still sell at full price, it's probably working out okay for them.

Anyway, still playing Yakuza 4. Some guys at work brought up how little I've played of Black Ops, since I only really played a little bit of it in Zombie mode with some friends but haven't touched the campaign. I told them I bet I could finish it by Monday on Hardened difficulty, so I might try to knock that over on the weekend.

I tried the Kinect at my brother's house on Saturday.  The concept is amazing. I hope developers figure out how to make some good games on it.
