At the final boss of Sonic Colors, so I've just nearly beaten the game. I was too tired to get all hardcore with the boss, so I saved it for tonight (gaming celibacy).

I have to say, Sonic Colors is THE best 3D Sonic game I've played since Sonic Adventure 2. And comparing both titles today, stripping away the nostalgia, 10th anniversary hype and "omfg, 128-bit graphics are amazing!", I'd say Colors beats out SA2. It is Sonic from start to finish. No overly long cutscenes, no non-Sonic characters getting in the way.

I did notice how they went about adding filler to Colors, as it felt as though only 2 acts were comparable to a full on Unleashed day stage or Sonic Adventure 1/2 action stage (aka true stages). While the four other acts were more truncated stages focusing on a puzzle element, level gimmick or a short high speed platforming stage. Even then, however, they remained true to what makes a Sonic game a Sonic game. So they were filler, but they were still Sonic stages. Wise move, Sonic Team. I'd take four of these types of stages over a 30 minute werehog or a treasure hunt or a mech shooter (or fishing).

My only complaints are a lack of HD graphics and a lack of Eggman bosses. He only appears as the final boss, and the six stage bosses were three bosses played twice (albeit with differences between battles). I'd give Colors a 9/10. Probably would give SA2 an 8.5/10, SA1 an 8/10, Heroes a 7/10, Shadow a 3/10, '06 a 1/10 (lol) and Unleashed a 7/10.

I've made it up to the Elite Four in Pokémon: Pearl Version. I think I'll have to do a bit more leveling up before I'm able to beat the final boss though.

I also picked up Portal 2 for the PS3 last night. So far it's pretty fantastic. I've only beaten the first chapter so far, so there haven't been any puzzles that are overly complicated yet.  I noticed a friend of mine was on Steam, so we gave the PC/PS3 cross-platform co-op a test run. It worked really well. The only downside was that I could only communicate with him via text chat, and I don't have a keyboard for the PS3, so chatting was a bit of a pain. The game has some nice features for communication in general though. You can send out points that you want the other player to look at. You can even get the little robots to play rock/paper/scissors or high-five eachother.

Finally got around to playing Venetica. I'm not very far at the moment as I haven't even gotten to Venice, but thus far it's quite fun.

Also I beat Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and I would have to say it ties with my other favorite Spider-Man game which is Ultimate Spider-Man. Overall I had a blast playing this new title, definitely worth checking out if your a fan of the 'ol webhead. ;)

I have been playing a small group of games, but the only ones that I want to talk about I am very early in.

Threads of Fate on PlayStation was a game I have been wanting to play for ten years, and now that I am able to... It seems pretty great! I really wish Square made really cool platformer-like games similar to this still, instead of whatever the Hell they do now. I love the art and general style, VERY similar to Skies of Arcadia!

[youtube:13j9wpzx]85u6XP-VQcc[/youtube:13j9wpzx]

Replaying Sonic Advance series. The first one is very good, but the art kind of sucks. The second one was the first game where the speed really annoyed me, but has better music and MUCH better art... But the third one which I thought I loved so much all these years is actually the worst of the bunch. Seriously what an awful game. I mean, the concepts are so nice, but the level design is literally some of the worst I have ever seen in platformer ever... I have so much more respect for Sonic Rush and Sonic Unleashed/Colors 2D sections after playing this awful mess. I will beat it then never touch it again in my life. That is a tall claim.

EDIT: Played the Twinkle Snow boss. It is literally the worst Sonic boss in the entire franchise. I cannot believe how awful that game is, anyone who thinks they like it is stupid, like I was back when I first played it.

I'd give Colors a 9/10

Heroes a 7/10

Shadow a 3/10

I know to never trust your opinions on Sonic games in the future.

I've gotten further in Venetica. I'm really enjoying it, it's got a fun combat system and the story is quite interesting.

Here's a trailer for the game if anyone is interested.

Finished the 4th case in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. It was both satisifying and creepy seeing Manfred von Karma go apeshit after proving something that I won't spoil.

Have you gotten a chance to play any of the other titles in the series?

@Sanus:
I'm there with you on the Advance games. I liked them a lot more when they came out originally. I still really enjoy Sonic Rush though.

So far, the first one is the only one I've played, but I'll probably get the other two when I get some Wii points (I have the WiiWare version).

Note to self: Never again play Sonic Free Riders on a game kiosk with only 3 hours of sleep and a very busy morning.

Good stuff. I'm pretty sure that the third one is still my favourite title in the series. You're in for a treat :D.

Aw, I'm sorry. =(

I've gotten quite a bit further in Dragon Quest IX. The story has taken some really interesting turns and I can't wait to see how it will conclude.

No prob.
I was just in a bad mood due to lack of sleep that's all...

Anyway, wow, Resonance of Fate seems almost self-aware at times, because it's sure it's trying it's darndest not to let me finish it. I leveled up, really beefed up and I actually came close to beating the final boss. The game glitched out on me after a retry. I'm not making this up...

I finally beat Pokémon: Pearl Version.
56 hours spread over 5 years.
Hopefully Silver doesn't take me as long to beat.
