Resonance of Fate:  Why does this game want to make me angry?  I'm supposed to be having fun.  Do you have to grind to get through it, or is it just hard all the time?  The battle system is pretty convoluted too.

That is funny because i was going to write if anyone had good tips to give me. I've started to play Resonance of Fate 2 days ago and i'm already stucked in the second chapter. Is there something i haven't understood about the gameplay or it is just very very VERY hard?
it's a shame because the game looks very  nice to me

Gears of War 2 for the first time.

It is a trillion times better than the first in every way so far. Everyone who does not think this game is at the very least 'Cool' has not played it and needs to GTFO.

Also, Soul Calibur IV's online play is actually really good (most of the time) and has a pretty big community still, not to mention the online options and menus are excellent. Too bad there is no balance at all and everyone picks Kilik and usually wins regardless of skill!

Lately I've been playing Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast...it's alright, but personally I like the first Sonic Adventure much better.

Nothing boring like Gears of War.

Just been playing Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and Monster Hunter United Freedom.

Finished all the challenges for modnation racers, they actually weren't as impossible as I thought they would be once I got used to using my shield.

Just looking for the last few tokens now and I'll be done with the career mode.

I tried out the unexpected and unannounced demo of Mass Effect 2 yesterday. I liked the first one a lot and was expecting a really fantastic release here with all of the positive press... I was very disappointed with so many things. Where to start?

The health bar is gone entirely, replaced with the regenerating shield like in Halo, which is retarded because you already have another regenerating shield over it. This is okay for action games, but NOT FOR RPGS! Not just that, but when you take damage you are surrounded by literally the ugliest thing I have seen in a video game ever, and it surrounds you until you are healed.

You can reload now. Okay this is not a bad feature at all or anything, but I specifically remember in Mass Effect an explanation of why reloading guns does not happen anymore, as they are all based on liquids now or something like that. I can understand maybe reloading the big weapons, but how will they ever explain this?

I am really annoyed by the levels being basically just linked cutscenes (which are well animated, but not synced well at all...) from what I played, I know it is an RPG, but it felt like if I was not talking I was instantly shooting. Every section I played was in a small hallway so from what I saw there was no exploration at all. I assume the full game is not like this, but a demo should be a good indication of what you will expect from the full title.

Another thing I hated was how in a mission in the demo you have to rescue a tattooed girl who is basically a female Shadow the Hedgehog... Not looking forward to seeing more of this character at all...

Worst part is that from what I can see you can no longer change your ammunition and every character but you cannot change their outfits.

The graphics are better and a lot of the additions are clearly positive ones, but I do not understand the ones I mentioned. I am just so surprised because it seemed so much better in so many ways. I am still very interested in picking this up eventually because I absolutely loved the story, music, art and characters of the first one, so there is no way I am going to pass it up, but wow I am just really shocked how much I was disappointed by it.

As for what I am really playing other wise. Just Dark Cloud 2, which I still love but is a bit too complicated for my taste at times. I shelved Soul Calibur IV because I do not want to play it to death and I cannot pick up Gears of War 2 because me and Kogen are planning to play through the whole game in co-op and be surprised by the game instead of knowing what is coming up and he is very busy lately.

I agree, regenerating health was a dissapointement, but it's not too bad in the game. You kinda get used to it, and it doesn't make it stupidly easy or anything.

The reloading is explained by the guns heating. Remember in the first games if you fired too fast the gun would overheat? Well in ME2 they've made it so you can replace the 'heat sink' or whatever when it starts to heat up. The idea is that each 'heat sink' thingy can only take so many shots before it's overheated and needs to be ejected, rather than leaving it to cool down.

Also it wasn't liquid (I think you are thinking of Deus Ex 2), guns in ME work on a block of steel or something and each time you fire a shot it breaks off a small shard of it I think. I may be off and thinking of Snow Crash, but I'm pretty sure that was it.

That must be the demo, because the full game is not like that at all, you still have heaps of freedom to go anywhere in the galaxy and talk, accept missions, explore etc.

Jack? Trust me she's far better than Shadow. I'm surprised that was the demo mission though.

Ammunition? Was there ammo changing in the first game? You could modify your guns but that's all I remember. The lack of changing armor was dissapointing though I agree. You do unlock alternate costumes for characters as you play though.

It's jarring at first, but overall I think the sequel generally is better than the first. Again, you only played the demo which sounds very limited considering this game is enormous.

Is it cross-burning season already?

Wet finally dropped down to 19 bucks, so I picked it up.
As a cheaper game, it's a blast. Sure the story's nothing special, the graphics aren't that great, and the platforming bits aren't perfect, but this game's good solid fun.
I really like the whole grindhouse asthetic, solid sountrack, Stranglehold-esqe shooting mechanics, combined with Prince of Persia style acrobatics.
It doesn't seem like it's a really long game (I've just finished chapter 11 of 13) but I feel like I'm really getting my money's worth on this one.

I really enjoyed WET, I also got it for a cheap price during a stock-take sale.

The shooting mechanics are quite fun, coupled with the bullet-time and acrobatics. And the soundtrack was surprisingly enjoyable as you said, some of the original songs had that great 70's movie vibe about them.

My favourite parts were the Rage mode moments though, the Black White and Red vector look was awesome.

Yeah, I've really enjoyed those bits so far. Hopefully I run into another one before the end of the game.

^Don't worry there is quite a few of them, I think you'll enjoy it!

I started Shadow Complex last night. Wow. Really really impressive. I'm only just up to the bit after you cross the lake, but it's really great so far. Anyone with XBLA should check it out now while it's over half price off!

How long does it take to beat Wet? I have the game sitting here and I sort of have the weekend off... Would I be able to beat it until Sunday?

I'd probably say about 6 hours or so.  There are 13 chapters and a few of them are really short.
