Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love.
You might have heard about it on the SegaBits Podcast where Sega Uranus was trying his damnedest to make it sound like most effeminate and boring game ever, but the game is actually very engaging.
It's a visual novel game, first and foremost. If you're not familiar with the genre, think if it like those "choose your own adventure" books where you come to a certain page and you have one of a few options.
I'm only skin deep into the game, but the story and characters are fun, which is telling since I'm not at all familiar with the other games in the series. Hopefully, I can give a solid impression as I get further into the game.
Sega didn't feel like giving the game a fair shake in the States, but that's where NIS America stepped in, and as a long time supporter of theirs, this is the game that brought them back to Earth after a series of bumps in their localization as of late. They're also the ones that are handling the Neptune game that Sega was handling in Japan.
NISA just restocked the limited PS2 version of Sakura Wars in their shop. If you're a stickler for dubs and prefer the original Japanese track you might want to pick up that version (it has both Eng. and Jpn.) as the Wii only has English voice overs.
