I wonder which will be first? VALVe's second wave of Steam Controllers, or Retro-Bit's Dreamcast controllers?
Or the very least, which will I get my hands on first?
My bet will be on VALVe's second wave of Steam Controllers since VALVE has more money.
Aaaaaand you are right! I got my email from Steam to confirm purchase for my Steam Controller! So I will be getting it first. I'm hoping this new controller will be a bit of motivation to get back into gaming.

Retro-Bit's Sega Collaboration is still yet to have Dreamcast controllers.

While I still want to play ReDream (and upcoming Power Surge games) with a Dreamcast "Pro" Controller, if their ever will be one, the Steam Controller will still be just as good. Even the ABXY buttons are the same, just not coloured.

Now, that my Steam Controller is on the way, all I have to do now is keep an eye on the Steam Frame, which is yet to be released. Though, I imagine, like the Steam Controller, I will have to reserve a spot in a queue than first-come-first-serve. (I wish I at least know the price to prepare steam wallet funds in advance.)

Oh nice! Tell me how it does later after you get to use it.
I read the Steam Machine were criticized due some players have "Red Line of Death" (RLOD) so I hope at least the other hardware that released by Valve could make amend for it since I do love my Steam Deck and glad to see Steam interested in console business.

A Steam Deck and Steam Machine are the only two I'm not really interested in. Given I already have Steam on my PC. Steam Controller and Steam Frame would be enough for me.

I just hope Steam Controller won't be strict to Steam and I can use it for emulators and other downloaded games.

If they want more money they won't restrict the controller to Steam only.

Thank goodness. I just checked the tracking and it's currently in transit. I haven't played video games in a long while. The fact I don't have a decent standard controller to play them with is one factor but also something I can only describe as "gamer's block". Like artist block that drains an artist of their motivation to draw. I'm hoping this new controller will shift that.

Plus, I have some VR games I would like to play again, but I can't until I get a Steam Frame.

I also still want to buy a Dreamcast Pro Controller if their ever will be one. But if it turns out it will have six-buttons over four, I dunno how I would feel about that. The Dreamcast Pro Controller would likely have new shoulder buttons over Dreamcast default trigger buttons. While six-buttons are ideal for fighting games, I'd rather Retro-Bit keep the default 4-button layout and reassign C and Z as shoulder buttons.

I mean, in the Sega Saturn Pro Controller, C and Z have the same function as L and R, while ZL and ZR serve as Sega Saturn's default L and R... I find that a bit confusing.

That layout's designed for VS fighting games, especially Street Fighter series.
One of the reasons why Mega Drive controller changed their 3 buttons to 6 buttons ... to accomodate Street Fighter games because Street Fighter II was really that BIG at time!

X,Y,Z : weak punch, medium punch, strong punch
A,B,C : weak kick, medium kick, strong kick

In Japan, most of Capcom fighting games sold more in Saturn than PS since their 6 button layouts captured perfectly SEGA  Saturn's controller which has same layout with Mega Drive controller.
That is until SEGA Dreamcast came along and put the C and Z buttons function into L and R.
May be it's confusing for you, but for us VS fighting gamers ... this is the perfect design since it's back to its root on Arcade, Mega Drive, and Saturn.
