SEGA Ages Out Run hits Nintendo Switch in 2019, first details on new content

SEGA has now launched the official site for the SEGA Ages release of Out Run on the Nintendo Switch. We also have confirmed that the game will hit English speaking countries in 2019, confirmed SEGA to Eurogamer.

So what will this version of Out Run come with? SEGA has confirmed that the game will support 60fps widescreen, which was also featured in the Nintendo 3DS version of the game. Unsurprisingly the new songs ‘Cruising Line’ and ‘Camino a Mi Amor’ from the 3DS version will return in this release. But this version of the game will get ‘Step on Beat’ from the Mega Drive/Genesis release, ‘Radiation’ from OutRun 2 SP, and more will be rearranged within the game.

now lets talk about new controller options:

SEGA Ages Out Run is set to use gyro controls that will try to replicate the idea of using a steering wheel. The SEGA 3D Classic release on the Nintendo 3DS had a similar feature that let you use touch controls to drive.

This version of Out Run will also include the ability to customize cornering, engine, tires and even bumpers to change the speed and way the game plays. I quite liked these abilities in the Nintendo 3DS version and I’m glad they are back. Its nice to replay a classic in a slightly new way.

I don’t mean to ask this as a troublesome person, I’m just genuinely curious. Aren’t you guys going to say anything about the new Blade Arcus game? It was announced a few days ago already and I think it’s weird that you, as the best source of SEGA news, haven’t said anything about it yet.

Yeah I would say Blade Arcus from Shining EX: Rebellion announced for Switch and PS4 with potential Western release is way more news worthy. Them (Modern Shining) games get better the more you love the characters for sure…

Outrun on 3DS wont be beat with the awesome stereoscopic 3D anyway!

  3. Utterly f@#£%& up that Sega is making this another Switch exclusive, wtf is the point of that?
