The World Stage mode is one of the most requested features I see in Steam update chat logs, so this will be a well welcomed feature, though for years many have also requested a Shenmue theme, even a Xhenmue DLC pack like the Yakuza DLC pack, especially fitting because Shenmue started life as the Virtua Vighter RPG – hence all the Virtua Fighter references in Shenmue, I mean if we even have a Tekken DLC for it, which isn’t even a Sega IP but a Namco one, how much more taxing is it to get a Shenmue one? Also, if we could have more of the VF1 stages instead of just one of them. It’s about time we had the same content that the 10th anniversary Virtua Fighter disk from 2003 had. That aside, it’ll be interesting how much more they can improve and add to the training mode, the show replay and slow motion analysis along with taking control of either character is an amazing feature.
That would be amazing, pity they haven’t done it already, or maybe it’s in the pipeline, Sega officials been pretty active on the official Virtua Fighter discord group though and listening, as this is still a work in progress project, so maybe if enough of us request it there, it might happen. As it’s work in progress, they are still actively developing it, that’s why they put it on Steam first, Steam is a good platform for allowing you to put work in progress projects up and take notes as work commences, many developers use Steam for this purpose and then release the project on other platform like Xbox etc when it’s been fully updated on Steam. It seems Sega are strategically doing this with Virtua Fighter and they went the extra mile in launching it’s very own official discord server to mainstream it as well.
There should be a Shenmue DLC. I am very offended by the Tekken costumes. After the Shenmue DLC they can make Fighting Vipers DLC costumes. How I want to dress Aoi as Candy! 🙂
Maybe if we all bomb the VF Discord group with this request, they will do it, they’ve been the most receptive and open group I’ve ever come across and really do seem to take the suggestions seriously, and I know we aren’t the onky ones, whenever I see the requests, they are typically well supported for more of these things like Shenmue DLC etc.
