Sony’s big budget story driven game gets love from SEGA’s Masayoshi Yokoyama (Yakuza 4) and Satoshi Sakai (Phantasy Star series), who confess that it is their favorite game released last year. Not only that, Sakai adds that he also enjoyed Call of Duty: Black Ops and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.
Atsushi Inaba (from Platinum Games) said his favorite game last year was Mario Galaxy 2. I always keep on forgetting that the game came out last year. Just seems like it’s older!

I watched a good 4-5 hours of a Heavy Rain playthrough and just didn't see the appeal. Characters were bland and very awkward and there really seemed to be no way to actually fail sections that presented a sense of urgency. Concept was cool enough though. Hopefully a game comes along that tries the same things, but tells a better story and presents alternate outcomes.
I haven't played Heavy Rain yet, but it is on my top games I want to get because I loved the studio's previous title Indigo Prophecy. It looks like a really engaging experience and I can understand why these guys like it.
JASON!
The characters in Heavy Rain can actually die if you mess up some of the major events.
But yeah, I thought the game was decent but overrated. I thought Indigo Prophecy felt much more fresh.
I loved Galaxy 2, though, so good choice on Inaba's part. :]
Nope, I was curios at best.
Never tried the game and now I don't plan to either.
I recommend Alan Wake for an engaging experience!
You haven't played the game, yet you recommend not playing it?
Not making much sense.
Masayoshi and Satoshi obviously haven't played Deadly Premonition.
I can't hate on Heavy Rain as I haven't played it (it's pretty much QTE: The Game, right?), but damn, not only there were more creative and polished games that year, there are also games where they do this whole thing better. It's not new, people. And I think the director or producer mentioned about they created a new genre with this game.
I'm stating to feel like that dude at the bottom of the page trying to stab Balloon, but, never will ;_;
@ George: I read about it, saw a few trailers. In the end I didn't find myself willing to buy it.
That's it, I am not saying anything bad or against it.
I just recommended Alan Wake which is an awesome game that i'm currently playing.
