Aside from the shurikens displayed in the trailer, have there ever been weapons in prior Virtua Fighter games?
Not that I can think of, I get the feeling that those Ninja Stars are just for the trailer and won't make it into the game though.

Those shurikens would be so awesome. He could turtle the whole match and the opponent wouldn't really be able to do a thing about it.
This trailer is a million times better then the last one, as it looks like the kicks and punches are actually connecting their is proper collision detection here, the last didn't have any.
I have to the last trailer was awful it turned me away from the game, this one on the other hand brought me back in.
Baka cube, this is just the "opening" movie, not the game. I have never seen a fighting game with these awesome motions ;p You can't play VF like that.
The items and weapons that were introduced for characters in Virtua Fighter 5 version D are just items you can add to your character that gives them different introductions and endings. That is all.
