Following our article earlier in the day, the newest cover of Nintendo Power not only shows Sonic Generations for the Nintendo 3DS (This despite SEGA’s attempt at hiding such information in their recent report) but indeed confirms the revival of the classic SEGA series Shinobi. Nothing else has been released just yet, but in the coming hours or days we are sure to get some scans of both particular games and confirmation if the original protagnist Joe Musashi returns or a new character once against takes on the title of the ninja master.

You beat me to it! Revival? That is not a port it seems. Fuck SEGA, making me waste money on a 3DS. 🙁
Classic sonic's presentation is so beautiful. It feels like i'm looking at a magazine from the 90's… wow
Thank goodness my local train station carries NP, I can check the news stand to and from work each day. 😀
Sonic Gen is sure to be great, Shinobi I'm mixed on. Gonna have to hear the direction and the dev behind it.
Man I really hope theres a HD Shinobi game accompanying that 3DS game.
Can't wait for this issue.
I wonder if it is a direct port or a different game altogether.
lol, hey George, who knows. The new Shinobi might suck.
Anyway, I'm excited to see a new Shinobi, though 3DS seems like something of an odd choice for a revival. SEGA probably picked it because it's fresh and new while PSP and Wii are dying out. If there is no HD version, they probably aren't making one because they don't want to spend a lot of money on a revival.
Return of Joe Musachi?
Wasn't his arc complete?
There was even a spin off which featured his Son.
Going on like a broken record here but… Akujiki.
Akujiku is a terrible plot device and I hope it never ever returns to Shinobi. The fact we are discussing plot here to a series that had very little plot to begin with is completely wrong.
And Hotsuma is a horrible character when compared to Joe Musashi. Most people who are big Shinobi fans want the return of the true ninja master.
Not that I am expecting SEGA to though.
I think Shinobi had a good plot whereas Nightshade left more to be desired the conclusion was satisfactory and opened the doors for the return of Joe at the end.
"I think Shinobi had a good plot whereas Nightshade left more to be desired the conclusion was satisfactory and opened the doors for the return of Joe at the end"
Shinobi does not and should not ever require a plot. Anything more than an evil organization/person is trying to take over the world and they are doing it wrong.
Even Revenge had a deeper plot then your outline bud.
I am sorry but we simply have to agree to disagree.
I want better plots, you don't.
You can add Joe's wife was kidnapped and master killed but that was about it.
"I want better plots, you don’t"
Actually I don't want any plot at all *smugface*
