32X month is coming to a close, so what better way to finish things than with the 32X’s most popular exclusive: Knuckles’ Chaotix!
Yes, it’s the 32X exclusive that left many gamers confused and somewhat disappointed. How could this be? After the the one-two punch of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, both of which were a tremendous success for Sega’s 16-bit juggernaut, I find it hard to believe this game met with such a lukewarm response….
Was it deserving? Let us a break out that ‘shroom one more time before we put 32X month to bed.

Very accurate video. The game had potential but was held back by counter intuitive mechanics. It had the controls of a speedy sonic game, but the co operating system was just there to make things anoying.
I think knuckles chaotix would have actually been a better game without the randomness and being tied together. It would have been better if it was just 1 character going through the stages.
It would have still been a simple game, but at least better.
Thanks, Crazy Tails. I really appreciate it. I always get a little nervous tackling big games like Knuckles’ Chaotix or Deep Fear. I try my best not to skim over any important details and such.
Don’t always succeed, but I’m getting better….I think. Hehe.
AJ has really done a great job with this series. He and Joe from Game Sack really do a lot to keep the Sega love alive out there.
Thanks, man. You rock. I haven’t heard of Game Sack. Are they on YouTube as well? I’ll have to check ’em out.
Game Sack is indeed on YT. Two friends where one is the Sega fanboy and the other the Nintendo fanboy but they cover all systems really. Joe seems to have a pretty nice Genesis, Master System & Saturn collection in his place. I think they have about 70+ videos up.
So basically after seeing this video.
I never want to play Knuckles Chaotix.
I also vote that all games featuring Chaotix should be considered Non-Canon and the Sonic series as a whole be retconed so we never see them again.
Nice! A.J, you always tackle every aspect of the game in an entertaining way, without ever going on too long and in fact leaving the viewer wanting a bit more just before you wrap it up (which is a good thing)…unlike some other reviewers who sometimes just ramble and drag *coughclassicgameroomcough*.
Hehe. Thank you, kind sir. Something I learned from making short movies and such; always best to leave ’em wantin’ more. Never wanna’ overstay your welcome….like some critics.
You know, like the Nostalgia Critic.
Vidoe might have been interesting but after all the “I’m playing old video games so I need to sound hardcore. Oh, I know, I’ll swear a lot” I got sick of it. Not a great first impression of the site.
Sorry you didn’t like it, but thats just how AJ is. It’s not an act, it’s his personality. If you don’t like the videos, just don’t watch them but feel free to browse the rest of SEGAbits. We are much more than one video series.
