Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd coming to western countries this fall

After the successful release of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F in the west last year, SEGA has announced that the sequel will be released here as well. Unlike it’s predecessor, Project Diva F 2nd will be getting a physical release for both PS3 and Vita at the same time in both the US and Europe.

The game will have 40 songs, including both new songs and classic songs that were playable in Project Diva games only released in Japan. The Edit Mode, which allows you to make your own videos and rhythm games with in-game assets and put them online for all to download, will also be back.

You can expect the game to be released this Fall in western territories. Japan will be getting the game in just a couple of days from now, on March 27th.

Never understood why people wanted the physical copies of the first iteration anyway. The Japanese copies are readily available, probably cost the same after importing right now.

Anyway, your comrades at SEGA Addicts just released an interview today with Aaron Webber on all about de Mikus: http://sega-addicts.com/2014/03/25/43200/
I find it interesting they mention about the saturation of rhythm games, but then we get yet another PD announcement out of nowhere. Guess even I underestimated the demand for such a property.

I don’t know. I’ll hold on judgement until I play the game, and until I hear word from the SEGAbits Knights of the Roundtable.

It’s exciting that companies, especially SEGA, are still willing to reward hardcore, old-school fans with physical copies. Now, if a niche game like Hatsune Miku can garner a physical release, couldn’t we generate enough buzz to get a compilation of the Genesis/Mega Drive 3D Classics that have appeared on the 3DS eShop? THAT’s a game I would have no problem ordering 3 times to boost SEGA’s profits. Not only do the 3D classics feature games that weren’t available on the PSP SEGA Genesis Collection, I’m talking HUGE games like Streets of Rage and Super Hang-On, it also has really cool features like the appearance that you’re playing on the actual Super Hang-On arcade cabinet. Who has the power to get this done?
