Guess what time it is? That’s right: Hi☆sCool! Seha Girls episode 7 is on Crunchyroll, and it brings with it everybody’s favourite blue hedgehog!
The episode picks up where last week’s left off, with Sonic arriving in the nick of time to fend off Eggman. And that he does, as he proceeds to trash Eggman’s mechs, leading to Eggy legging it. The girls, still unable to get out of Border Break, manage to hitch a ride from Sonic, who’s initially none too impressed at the girls grabbing onto his spines.
Somehow, Eggman escapes though; it doesn’t take long to find out where to, as a bizarre portal in the sky appears. Upon entering, the Girls are taken through the world of Sonic 1 and even Emerald Coast from Sonic Adventure; eventually finding Eggman! And what do you know, he’s equipped with the classic wrecking ball of doom from the Mega Drive days.
One cool (and pointless, but eh) thing to note is the footage of Adventure used here is from the original Japanese release, not the later Sonic Adventure: International Edition. At least, from the looks of the motion blur on Sonic’s feet during the footage!
I won’t summarise past this point, and for good reason: this is one of the more action-packed episodes of the series, and one I recommend you watch yourself. Perhaps I’m slightly biased, after all, this does concern Sonic the Hedgehog; but it’s easily one of my favourite episodes of the series thus far. Admittedly, the focus on Sonic does limit the other fanservice, though there’s some at the end, and Sonic’s animation can look really wooden at times. Also the lack of voicing for Sonic and Eggman is a shame, though I expected it. Still, it’s a fun episode, and Sonic does get decently expressive, which is nice to see. The Girls themselves are also as witty as ever!
Catch the episode on Crunchyroll here!
There’s also a preview of next week’s episode; and it looks like the Girls swap the nice establishment that is their Academy, for a House! Unfortunately, said house is actually The House of the Dead! Or more, it would be, but the episode is focused on House of the Dead 2. Close enough.
More interestingly, the background of the preview suggests the other SEGA Hard Girls characters, such as the Mega Drive Model II and Game Gear, will be getting an introduction to the show soon! Also amusing is the full title of the next episode:
“Shock to the Brain! No boobs, but we’ll destroy the barriers of the boob-obsessed Youth! Sehagaga Academy Fair!”
…only in Seha Girls, folks. Also: Sorry for the delay on these impressions! Crunchyroll was kind enough to delay the episodes by a few hours.
