I didn’t play any other game of Technosoft besides Thunderforce 2 and 4. For the most outstanding game is without doubt Thunderforce 4 the music today still holds up after so many years and handed so well on the mega drive / genesis. To bad Technosoft didn’t had the same applies on the Psx 1 / Saturn, it was missing something that the previous title had over the years. Dont get me wrong but the same happened for me with dariusburst. I like shmup that are in 2d. If i where Technosoft or sega i would make shmup again on a sega console to test the waters and the blue sky’s once again. (Because its been ages since a lighting stroke again)
You played Thunderforce 2 and 4 but NOT 3? Is that even physically possible? Do yourself a favor and find one to play right now… Its great! I love Thunderforce 4 as well but Thunderforce 3 ended up being more memorable with even better music (it is a bit easier though). They definitely declined after the 16 bit era. Playing stuff like Hot Blooded Family and Kyu Ten Ki was painful, and the later Thunder Force games didn’t have the same musician.
I still own Thunder Force 3, 4 and 5. I would like Sega to develop a new entry to the series.
