A patch was released today for Sonic Jump on Android devices. Fixes the text scaling issues that caused microscopic text, among other issues. So if you were having issues with Sonic Jump on your device. Go download the patch from the Play Store and see if it fixes the issues you were having. Let us know in the comments if the patch fixes the issues you were having or not. It fixed the issues I was having with microscopic text.
So, finally a the new theme we’ve been working on for months and months is up. I know some of it might not seem like it’s been worked on for months.. mainly styled stuff that’s specific to wordpress, when I was making the template that stuff I kind of forgot about. So today when I was making the template into a wordpress theme I quickly jammed a bunch of the old code into the new template for wordpress specific stuff, so it’s a bit messy. I’ll be working on getting that stuff looking better throughout the year or so. I mean it doesn’t look super bad, just doesn’t look good as it could.
By major request, the dark theme is back, the dark theme that we had back during segabits 2. This theme is styled a bit differently, but still dark!
At the moment there are no rotating banners, we need to get our current ones re-sized for this new layout, but they will be coming back soon. As always, if you bump into any issues, you can leave a comment here. You can also leave positive comments too, we like positive comments!
Anyways, I apologize for putting up a rushed theme, but I recently got the motivation to finally get it up, and I wanted to get it up before I lost that motivation again.
If you have been paying attention to All-Stars Racing Transformed interviews from Sumo digital you would know that they talk a lot about how advanced and complex the physics are but never go into detail. So I asked S0L and got a good answer…
It all runs under full physics, whether car, boat or plane. We wanted to do this so the behaviour was more predictable, since last time we cheated and faked a lot of it. It adds a whole heap of depth of control as a side effect, plus it means you’ll got consistent vehicle behaviour.
The water also is a dynamic surface, so waves affect the boats, splashes and explosions too. Between the physics there and the rendering (making water look like water means a lot of effects!) this is why we opted for a capped framerate of 30. In order to get to 60, we’d have to pull back on the graphical look of the game a lot, and when we’re doing a whole new engine to make it look as good as it does, you have to make this compromise.
No-one complained about the framerate at Play Expo at any rate 😛

So yeah, sounds really good! This physics will make the game feel more like a racing game, rather than a small kart game, which is something else that Sumo Digital also likes to brag about.

Well, the game has finally been announced, and with a hilarious trailer. As you can see, the crowd is going wild and can’t wait to play this game. Coming to XBLA and PSN this fall.

Turns out the trailer in the last post I made wasn’t the launch trailer, this one is! This one is also more exciting. This game NEEDS to come west.
If you haven’t been living in a stone cave, then you will know that PSO2 has been in beta for a while now and is way awesome. The game officially launches in Japan on July 4th. Additions to the launch release include an increase of the class level cap to 40, a new snow area, 3rd form of mag, and additional story missions.
If you didn’t watch the trailer above you should, nothing amazing for anyone who has played the game, but it’s still a super awesome trailer. Fingers crossed for US/EU announcement very soon. Would be nice to play this game in English.

Are you a fan of the Hatsune Miku games from SEGA? If so, you might be interested in this. SEGA Japan has announced that Next Hatsune Miku Project Diva will come with a PlayStation Vita skin.
The game comes out August 30th, so you still have time to decide.
SEGA has just has released a press release which gives us a hint at what kind of game we can expect for Sonic 4 Episode 2. The game is being built for multicore mobile phones, and SEGA is working with nvidia on a version for the worlds first Quadcore mobile phone processor for android.
This news personally has me really excited. It’s great to see that SEGA is putting so much concern for quality for Episode 2. For those who don’t know, the TEGRA quadcore processor is capable of running XBOX 360 and PS3 style games.

Last night Sega held two Phantasy Star Online 2 “Fan Briefings” where members of the development team including ‘Dragon’ Sakai took to the stage in Akihabara Japan to revealed new details about PSO2. Fans who could not attend the even, like you and I could watch it on USTREAM.
The above video is the opening CGI movie of PSO2, hit the jump to watch a trailer for the game which includes lots of gameplay recorded from the USTREAM video so quality isnt the best.
