Shining Resonance Refrain demo hits PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch today

If you have any of the three modern consoles you will be able to play SEGA’s upcoming Shining Resonance Refrain for free! This will let you see if the game is for you, giving you hands-on time early. How early? A month early considering that the full game hits America and Europeans on July 10, 2018!

Sadly there is no demo announced for the Steam or PC version of the game, which sucks if you are a PC gamer only. But three out of four platforms isn’t too shabby by SEGA. Are you going to be giving Shining Resonance Refrain a chance?

SEGA announces Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Valkyria Chronicles 4 for PC

While Yakuza franchise has had a great lifespan being a PlayStation only exclusive franchise, it seems that SEGA is changing that to open the franchise to a brand new audience. Yakuza 0 will be hitting PC on August 1st! That will be followed by Yakuza Kiwami and Valkyria Chronicles 4 later. It will be great to play these titles with beefed up hardware. Yes, SEGA has confirmed that Yakuza 0 will run at 4k, 60 fps. Get hyped. Yakuza 0 will cost $19.99 and if you pre-order it now you get 10% off! The only negative about the announcement is that this title has Denuvo DRM, if that is an issue to you of course.

These two Yakuza games run on a older engine, what I really want to see is a PC port of Yakuza 6 since the new ‘Dragon Engine’ was a bit much for the PlayStation 4. But I’m pretty happy with Yakuza 0 and yes, I will play it again.

SEGA confirms Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise hitting PS4 on October 2, 2018, includes optional English dub

Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise was actually ‘leaked’ early thanks to an Amazon listing and today, SEGA Europe confirmed it is a reality. The game is set to hit western store shelves on October 2, 2018! Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise actually released in Japan earlier this year under the title Hokuto no Gotoku, which is a game developed by the Yakuza Studios.

Unlike Yakuza games that retain their Japanese voices and offer subtitles, it seems Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise will have an English dub, which has been confirmed to be optional. So users can play it with English voice acting or Japanese. Check out the trailer above for more a sample of the voice work.

Team Sonic Racing gets E3 Trailer featuring new theme by Crush 40

“Driiiiive through foreeeeeeeever!”

The Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube account has uploaded the brand new Team Sonic Racing E3 trailer which mixes CGI and in-game graphics. The trailer focuses on the rivalry between Team Sonic and Team Dark! The trailer also features the racing course Wisps Circuit because you know Sonic fans love Wisps!

One of my negative comments on the recently revealed Team Sonic Racing gameplay was that it looked a bit too slow for my liking, this new trailer’s gameplay seems to be a bit faster. I hope (and I’m sure there are) faster modes of play within the game. Obviously this isn’t taking into account my real big complaint, that its all Sonic and doesn’t include prior SEGA IPs like the All-Stars series, but it seems Sonic fans are happy at the very least.

Amazon leaks ‘Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise’ Western localization

It seems that SEGA has plans on localizing Hokuto no Ken, the Fist of the North Star game created by the Yakuza developers considering that Amazon has listed ‘Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise‘ product page (which they have taken down). The listing was spotted by Twitter user @RedMakuzawa and it seems that the product page has now been pulled.

Don’t be shocked if you see it revealed during Sony’s E3 press conference tomorrow, considering that Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

New Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom E3 trailer shows off animated cutscenes, new improved graphics

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom has been in the works for a very long time, so long that we even did a podcast with the developer all the way back in 2016! The team decided that after the success of Wonder Boy: Dragon’s Trap that they would refocus their efforts and add more into the game. It seems that their decision was a wise one because the game is looking a lot better in terms of animation and production values.

If you are at E3 2018 this year, you can play Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom at the SEGA booth from June 12 to the 14! There is also a physical version of the game coming to Nintendo Switch and PS4. Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is hitting Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC this summer!

Shining Resonance Refrain getting Nintendo Switch demo on June 12, 2018 [Update]

While SEGA has confirmed that Shining Resonance Refrain will be playable at E3 2018, it seems that the general public will also be getting a taste of Shining Resonance Refrain. At least if you own a Nintendo Switch, since the demo has been confirmed for a June 12, 2018 release. As far as whats in the demo and if its the same as the E3 build is unknown.

As you probably already know, the English version of Shining Resonance Refrain will hit Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on July 10, 2018. We will keep you updated on any new information regarding other versions of the demo on other consoles.

[Update: SEGA confirmed the demo will launch across PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles]
