Shogun 2 In-game footage

Here is an in-game presentation of the newest Total War game, Shogun 2:Total War. The video isn’t the best quality but you can understand the jist of it.

In the video the presenter speaks about their new engine as well as the effects it can do. He also mentions the staggering number of units on screen, a possible 56 thousand! Finally engaging in a large scale land battle.

This is very impressive tech even at this pre-alpha stage.

Shogun 2: Total War, press release

Sega have released the official press release for Shogun 2: Total War which gives the finer details on what to expect from the 6th game in the series.

There are some very cool additions such as pre battle speeches from your generals which haven’t been seen since Rome: Total War and It is pretty impressive with a possible 100,000 different speeches depending on your army, location, relationship to the enemy and all sorts. Other note worthy additions are seasonal battles that effect game play, shrines to capture or burn effecting troop moral and many more.

It is never to late to get into this truly awesome series and Shogun 2 seems like the most fitting game yet since it’s set in the home land of our favorite company.

Shogun 2: Total War is official

It is now official, since IGN has a hands-on preview of the title. It is said the game will revolve around 8 war factions and not have the epic scope that Empire had.

The game will also offer small scale ambush fights to full scale wars. This should be pretty good, since Samurai anything is good in my book.

IGN Mystery Teaser Trailer, Shogun 2?

Could this mystery teaser trailer from IGN be for the long awaited Shogun 2 Total War? It seems to point in that direction.

Currently we have no translation for what is being said or typed but I’ll update you when I find out more.

Shogun 2 Total War for E3?

Sega and the Creative Assembly have been hinting at a new Total War game with a teaser count down on their home page HERE.  However this is no ordinary count down! In true Total War style instead of counting down in mere days to announcement it is counting down in historically important dates.  The date is currently at 1751 but is almost certain to drop further considering the latest news we have heard.

Creative Assembly first hinted to IGN that the next game would be ‘back to basics’ this made it quite apparent that we would be dealing with a sequel. Having had a sequel to Medieval 2 only recently, this leaves Rome: Total War and Shogun: Total War.

And if Turkish site ‘Oyungezer‘ is to believed it will be Shogun Total War we see at E3 2010. The site claims to have been penciled in by Sega Europe for a 2:30pm appointment to talk about Shogun 2: Total War.

While I would take this as a rumour for now, it was either this or the other and now the scales seem to point to this!

Napoleon, The Peninsular Campaign

Napoleon: Total War is getting a new expansion pack based around the Iberian Peninsula campaign.

This campaign was predominantly between Napoleon of France, the British Empire, Spain and Portugal. Napoleon had managed to take a large chunk of Europe for France. He wanted to close Europe off to the British who were one of the biggest threats to French territory and trade. Unfortunately for Napoleon, Portugal who were allied with the British were still holding out against French attacks for the time being.

You will start the campaign as British take a small foot hold in Southern Europe. You can either play as the British attempting to expand your hold in Europe, France trying to defend their large landmass and taking portugal. Or Spain fighting the first ever ‘guerrilla warfare’ against French troops.

The game comes out late 2010 and is exclusive to Steam.

Creative Assembly to announce new Total War at E3

We have known that Creative Assembly have been looking around for some people to do a sports title. This puzzled and made everyone ask themselves, what the creators of Total War have been up to. The studio apparently told EuroGamer it was going create a 2012 Olympic title. Not shocking I guess.

But what is more shocking is that they have e-mailed and teased that they will be at E3, with a new Total War game. They say the game is PC-only and will take the series “back to basics.”

Develop 100: SEGA comes in 6th in the UK

Look at that, SEGA has come in 6th place for the UK, in terms of revenue generated in retail. That is rather good, they even manage to beat Capcom. who’d have known, especially after heavy hitters like Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter 4.

Of course, most of SEGA’s success in the UK can be credited to Total War series and Football Manager. But who cares? Lets celebrate, they are only going to climb that top 10 list!
