Oh I see, so you can compare them in the same way that you could compare say, Sonic Unleashed and Burnout. Gotcha.
Burnout is a Racer , GOW and Sonic are Platform games , thought I guess some might class the likes of Shinobi , Ninja Gaiden , GOW has action platform games . But I can't remember playing any Burnout game with end of level boss Battles , collecting extra lives , or trying to jump on moving platforms , infact I don't think there's even a Jump button in Burnout (maybe Crazy Taxi II).
TA you are missing the point, God of War is not cheap to the level of Sonic Unleashed, why do you think even primary Sonic fans not like it much
There's quite a few cheap deaths (falling off platforms , killed Outright by water) in God Of War III, there's issues with the Double Jump , But the rest of the game is tuned to such perfection and the product of such quality that one overlooks , small flaws . The trouble with Sonic is that quality bar just isn't there , there's too many flaws getting inthe way .
But if people out going to highlight the silliness of getting killed outright by water as a reason to bash SONIC. Then people can also point out, that this also happens in GOW III, or way back to Castlevania IV .
Where one can forget get humble Hedgehogs , these are brave Warriors , tasked with killing GOD's, the Undead , yet can't handle a stretch of water

? .
It Really comes down to an area of the map, you're not meant to be in
Now to me the Sonic Unleashed Engine is impressive, in fact when its at full belt its simply breathtaking , and the Daylight sections are exactly , what I want and expect from a SONIC game .
The game was let down by a lack of Polish and Optimization, a piss poor Hub system (which I'll not even try and defend) , and poor life and checkpoint placements on the WereHog sections , and some iffy controls .
After Sonic heroes, Sonic 06 , I thought it was a huge step forward, in to getting Sonic back on song , and it's a shame that the team wasn't given another 6 to 8 months to tune and optimise the game fully
That's what I feel about Sonic Unleashed, It was almost there but not quite . But I would like the Team to use the Engine again and improve on what they did for the next SONIC
