New Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity Trailer

The newest trailer for ‘Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity’ the expansion to the original Phantasy Star Portable 2 has got the Phantasy Star fans in a crazed speculation frenzy.

Because not only does it show some of the new characters, races, game play and locations. The end of the trailer shows something far more interesting… Near the end of the trailer you’ll see an old looking spaceship rising from the ground.

Hit the jump to find out more about the story/speculation.

It has long been speculated that the events of Phantasy Star Universe in the Gural system are linked to the original Phantasy Star Online games.

Could the space ship in this trailer be the long lost remains of Pioneer 1 or Pioneer 2 and this planet be Ragol way in the future? Or could it even be Pioneer 3? A ship mentioned rarely in PSO that was said to have set off to find other inhabitable planets…

If it is one of them, which I assume it is considering in the previous trailer you see Ricos Red Ring from PSO. Then this links the entire Online Phantasy Star games story wise. As all the Pioneer ships set off from the planet ‘Coral’ which is where Phantasy Star: Zero on the Nintendo DS takes place.

So, this leaves some serious speculation as to how Phantasy Star Online 2 will fit into the picture? The Logo for PSO2 has 7 planets circling the logo. Could this game link all of the planets? Or will they be all new!? How exciting!

Dear god I’m a nerd…

Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity will release in Japan on the 24th of February 2011.

While the release date for Phantasy Star Online 2 is still unknown… I’m very excited to find out more about it!

Was the planet in Phantasy Star Zero confirmed to be Coral? I don't remember if that ever got past speculation.

Well jeez, now you got me concerned!

But I'm 90% sure that there was a confirmation somewhere along the line…
