SEGA trademarks Drama Engine for US and Europe

SEGA has trademarked “Drama Engine” for both North America and Europe, it will be used for video games and also for 3D computer graphic software and facial motion capture software. What is it?

Well one would guess is that its some sort of middleware? Some people think it might have something to do with SEGA’s facial imagining game Project Beauty for the NDS. Hard to know what it is really, any guesses here?

I could not say, but I don't think Sega would go to the lengths to trademark an engine for that Project Beauty game. Doesn't seem likely.

Sounds like an engine that tracks facial animations so they can have more realistic facial models in game.

Could be an updated facial engine they use for the Yakuza games and Ninja Gaiden II used?

Satomi Hajime is completely satisfied with their works.
