4Gamer talked to Japanese developers, asked them all the following questions:
- What game released in 2010 moved you or shocked you the most?
- What piece of entertainment (game or non-game) most impressed you in 2010?
- Give a message to fans
Two of the producers from SEGA & two people from Platinum Games happen to be on the list of Japanese developers to answer the questions. Hit the jump to find out their responses.
Masayoshi Kikuchi
First we have Masayoshi Kikuchi from SEGA, who worked on Jet Set Radio series and now the Yakuza series.
- What game released in 2010 moved you or shocked you the most? A: Limbo
- What piece of entertainment (game or non-game) most impressed you in 2010? A: While he was thinking about responding with Inception, he instead said Zombie Land.
- Give a message to fans. A: Kikuchi is currently working away at Yakuza of the End and Yakuza Mobile for GREE. He hopes to make new challenges in 2011 starting with these two.
Satoshi Sakai
Satoshi Sakai works on the Phantasy Star series, he is the man that kept on teasing a 2011 Phantasy Star Online project that is now known as Phantasy Star Online 2.
- What game released in 2010 moved you or shocked you the most? A: God of War III
- What piece of entertainment (game or non-game) most impressed you in 2010? A: Avatar and Space Battleship Yamato
- Give a message to fans. A: 2011 will be the year that Sega begins its real push for Phantasy Star Online 2
Atsushi Inaba & Hideki Kamiya
Atsushi Inaba is the CEO and Producer over at Platinum Games, did games like Vanquish, then we have Hideki Kamiya who is a director and did Bayonetta. They both answered the questions together, first two Inaba and last one Kamiya.
- What game released in 2010 moved you or shocked you the most? A: (Inaba) Super Mario Galaxy 2
- What piece of entertainment (game or non-game) most impressed you in 2010? A: (Inaba) iPhone
- Give a message to fans. A: (Kamiya) Said that he’s already working on his next title and he’d like to announce it as soon as possible.
So SEGA will be pushing Phantasy Star Online 2 for 2011, Kamiya is already working on his next game and will most likely be announced next year or ‘asap’ as he wants. Sounds good to me.

OMGGGG PSO2.
Zombie Land was great. My favorite film this year next to Kick-Ass.
Masayoshi Kikuchi likes Zombie Land, and is making Yakuza of the Dead… err End, Yakuza of the End.
If only he liked Inception more, he would be making Yakuza into Dreams: Journey of Goro Majima.
