Bayonetta 2 waiting for the right time

Atsushi Inaba, Platinum Games co-founder, has told the guys at Eurogamer that he would “would love” to do Bayonetta 2. He also stated that it will be done “when the time is right”.

“There is no concrete plan or schedule that we can talk about, It’s not like Kamiya said, ‘Okay, we’re going to make this.’ But Bayonetta is definitely a special IP for us. We loved creating that game. We think it was a really good game. We would love to make a sequel to it when the time is right. That’s all we can say.” – Atsushi Inaba

Kamiya also talked about the sequel via twitter, stating that he believes we would be seeing Bayonetta again. Sounds like everyone wants a new game. Lets get it cracking.

While I am vocal about my disdain towards PG. This is something I really must applaud.

Timing is important, especially with a whore, given the game was marketed around sexuality, it won't be a bad idea if they kept pushing out a sequel every year. A year or 2 break in the middle is good, technology improves and so do the idea and execution.

I wish Sega would use the same approach with Valkyria, Yakuza and Sonic. Let the people savor the experience, I haven't even played Yakuza 3 yet and a sequel is already out and a spin off coming soon.

Why is it that everyone who hates this game usually seems to be completely oblivious to the actual nature of the game?

Cube, it was not marketed around sexuality at all… In any way. Here are a bunch of commercials to prove that.

Anyways, I really think SEGA has potentially a very very big IP here and they should definately treat it with care, but they should not just wait around either. I think Bayonetta 2 needs to come out 2012, but no later. Sooner would not hurt, but I do not think it is necessary yet.
