Yuji Naka’s new game might come west as ‘Rodea the Sky Soldier’

Yuji Naka’s latest adventure game with Prope has been announced in Japan, it is called Tenkuu no Kishi Rodea. But that name is not very good for a western port, not at all. So the publisher, Kadokawa Games copyrighted the name ‘Rodea the Sky Soldier’ in America.

The odd thing is Kadokawa Games doesn’t have a US branch. This game might be brought over by another publisher, maybe NIS America or XSeed.

Have some screens and art that the publisher released in their latest press conference in Japan.

I think this looks really cool. I really hope that a big publisher picks it up for Western release, because Yuji Naka needs a non-Sonic success story.

He has Chu Chu Rocket, NiGHTS, Phantasy Star Online, Sambe De Amigo, and Burning Rangers on his portfolio in addition to Sonic.

Maybe they should reduce the name to Rodeo Sky, Sky Soldier: Rodeo.

That way he could star a Sky Soldier series or something.
