SEGA releases Virtua Tennis 4 (PS3) Commercial

SEGA has released what looks like the North American TV commercial for Virtua Tennis 4, which they’ve posted to their blog and on Youtube.

Just in case anyone’s confused, yes, this is actually a multiplatform game, though you can’t tell it from the commercial.

  1. SEGA better advertise the other platforms. Otherwise it's a really dumb marketing move. Unless Sony made a deal to pay for the commercials, and paid more for SEGA to not mention the other releases.

Game was built for the PS3 and move in mind. Hey, at least 360 got a version.

  3. Oh I know that, I'm just saying it would be beneficial for SEGA to mention the other versions in their ads, such as at the end when it only mentions PS3. Let's say non-PS3 owner sees the ad and has a Wii, they wouldn't know that the game is also on the Wii from watching the ad.

  4. George says:

Not to be a jerk, but Call of Duty does this and it never stopped them from selling millions and millions on PS3.

  5. ShadiNeko says:

Not to mention Final Fantasy 13 did it too, didn't see SL complaining about that =P Since it was doing it for the 360.

Yeah but this isn't FF or CoD. It's an arcade tennis game. I really don't think it's devoted entirely to a die-hard fanbase who knows what systems it's on. Sega didn't even release a demo for the 360 version.

Anyway, I think they're putting too much emphasis on the Move, a perhipheral that nobody really cares much about, and apparently the game plays much better on a Standard Controller anyway. I'm 100% sure this Move-focused (and exclusive) marketing is Sony's doing, so hopefully Sega got a nice check from it…because I think it'll hurt sales of their game.

  7. George says:

Reviews said that move was done well. So not really telling the whole truth. Move might not be bringing in Kinect numbers but it does sell.. I see you use the "I don't care about" as "no one cares".

    lol okay man.

There's relatively little interest in the Move. Even Jack Tretton accidentally bashed it in a recent interview by trashing motion controls.
