Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown wins “Best Fighting Game of 2012” by G4TV’s X-Play

On December 6th, G4TV’s X-Play did their Best of the Year Video Games Awards for 2012. In the fighting game category, the nominees were SoulCalibur 5, Persona 4 Arena, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown and Skullgirls.  The people have voted and the winner of the “Best Fighting Game of 2012” goes to SEGA’s Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown! Glad to see SEGA’s famous fighting franchise taking the spot. It’s one of the greatest arcade ports ever made. Hope to see what AM2 has in store for the series in the future. I look forward to the next bout!

    The other “Final Showdown” to note is that this will be X-Play’s last Games Awards.

    R.I.P. X-Play.

    I like Soul Calibur V a little more than VF5FS. VF5FS definitely deserves its recognition though, so I’m happy for it and look forward to VF6.

    Well to be fair this game is like the 10th version of it.

    Version B was released on PS3.
    Version C on 360.
    VFR = D which received 3 updates
    VF5FS = 2nd Update.

    So cumulatively this has over half a dozen updates to the one originally released on PS3.

      I am confused about Jean Kujo’s gender though, from what I can determine from screen shots. She is kinda flat breasted but is dressed in red, long hair and a feminine face.

      Well I guess it is nice to break the stereotype of big breasted young fighters.
