Next Yakuza Title (Yakuza 6?) Website Revealed, Formal Reveal Incoming

Yakuza6Teaser

The teaser website for the next Yakuza title has just launched. It features text that steadily appears and fills up the screen, culminating with the image shown above. Gematsu reports that we can expect a formal reveal via niconico on the 24th of August at 9 P.M. Japan time. Details are scant on the game itself, but we do know that the game is in development for both the PS3 and PS4, and that it will not be a spinoff title.

The Yakuza franchise keeps moving forward in Japan, but outside of Japan the rest of the world still lags with Ishin and 5 not being localized. Please consider learning about and supporting the Day of the Dragon (August 8th) to show your support for bringing Yakuza games outside of Japan!

This is why Sega has money problems. Ever since the fall of the Dreamcast, Sega has kept most of their best titles on Japanese soil. To make money Sega needs to release more titles like Yakuza 5 instead of the typical Sonic games. I like Sonic but come on Sega bring OVER MORE TITLES LIKE YAKUZA 5, PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2, and many more games to western territories!!!!!!!

I know! All I want is the games that Sega of Japan is making like Yakuza 5, Ishin, maybe even 6!, and PSO2! Heck, PSO2 is already getting Episode 3 in Japan! I know there’s more fans out there like me. Sega needs to stop putting out some BS like Alien and stuff and bring me those games!

You should play Yakuza 1-4 before wanting 5, Ishin, and 6. 😉

I gave up. I bought 5 and Ishin from play-asia.com. I just can’t wait any longer. It’s annoying playing a game and using a guide at the same time, but I think it’ll be the only way to experience it. It’s a a shame. These games are so dang good, and I thoroughly enjoyed them subtitled.

True, most of the ‘truly Sega’ stuff stays in Japan, while Western territories are made to put up with mediocre-licensed ports at worst and completely average bog standard output at best, hardly surprising people keep saying Sega isn’t the same company anymore in the west because they’ve descended to the mediocrity that used to be more common with third parties – but even third parties like ubisoft and Capcom (till recently) and Namco surprisingly excel past Sega, smaller companies like Atlus don’t seem to have a problem localising proper Atlus produce in the west, but a much bigger company like Sega does? No wonder they sharply dropped in profits recently, they’ve hardly put anything out compared to even just a couple of years ago. The Ryu Ga Gotoku series is the only real current big high production franchise that I can think of that is close to Shenmue in scope that Sega still makes and even that has become Japan exclusive.

If this follows the usual pattern, Famitsu will spoil the reveal a couple of days early.

I dont know why but i had the idea that all the comments in this report (Except the one from centrale) are from the same person…
