While yes, this is not a SEGA product, it IS the long awaited action adventure game from Sonic the Hedgehog co-creator Yuji Naka. Naka and his studio Prope had been working on this game for quite some time, and it has been an equal (if not more) amount of time that the game has been delayed. In fact, the game is so old it had to be ported from the Wii to the Wii U! Naka has been pretty vocal about being disappointed with the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game, urging players to try the original Wii version as that is the version he and Prope truly developed.
Having said that, I bought the Nintendo 3DS version. Mainly because the Limited Edition was about $20 cheaper and included the exact same extras. So ignore which version of the game I bought and check out what bonuses came with the NIS America produced Limited Edition version of Yuji Naka’s long awaited Rodea the Sky Soldier!

A good game deserves a good article. And you just did. Im getting the first print with the wii version included.
So you won’t be doing commentary on your videos anymore?
I just didn’t see the point in talking over the video given its length, and the fact that the title and visuals speak for themselves. I’m not ruling out commentary on future videos.
They say the Wii Version is the only one worth playing.
Talking in the vid doeznt add a whole lot. But it does add the enthousiasm of how happy you are with the game. But to me thats not important. The silence is great
How come pier solar and rodea gets a blog and the latest interview of cedric biscay is totally ignored. Are you guys paid to shill sega’s only?
“Paid to shill SEGA”, that’s nice. Thanks. To answer your question, another site’s interview isn’t news to us. When we interview somebody from Shenmue 3 then you’ll see it here.
Thanks for posting this! I preordered Rodea for WiiU and 3DS, to be sure to get the Wii disc version included as a great bonus. I did not realize NIS did a limited edition release with all the goodies!! I ordered last night from NIS the 3DS LE version, so i can join in the fun!
I can’t tell you how long i have waited for Yuji Naka to release a game after leaving Sega, that embodied his game style. He has put out games since leaving sega, but it would seem Rodea is the first full action 3D title to come to fruition, I had expected a title earlier, around 2008-2010, but it would seem Rodea will fit the bill! I can’t wait to play !
Thanks! The 3DS version of the game isn’t all that great, but the limited edition materials are great and are the exact same stuff you would get with the Wii U version (though as mentioned, the LE of that sold out). From what I’ve heard, the original Wii version is is the best.
