SEGA is set to release SEGA Genesis Classics (SEGA Mega Drive Classics for non-Americans) for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. They are planning on launching the physical release on May 29 which will include over 50 SEGA Genesis classic titles.
This release seems to be caught early by the people over at SEGA Nerds and according to them SEGA has asked them not to post the news but since this has already been posted on bigger sites like Gematsu and Game Informer, I thought it’d be fine to share. Of course, this release could have a ton of more games, so we will have to see when its officially announced by SEGA.
It also seems that this version will include the ‘3D hub’ that the PC titles currently have. Hey, lots of fans wanted this released on modern consoles and it seems SEGA is delivering
Are you picking it up when it launches on May 29th?
Ad:
I’ll pick it up, but I really hope that this is more than just another Sonic’s UGC. Perhaps every game could get full packaging and manual scans, as well as several roms as seen in the later Vintage Collection releases. Better yet, maybe they could include the remakes of Sonic 1 and 2 instead of the Genesis originals.
I own some of the SEGA Genesis Classics. Doers this mean I get additional stuff, or do I have to buy more things? Some important questions that need answers here.
I’m still wondering why they announced this on PC. It’s ALREADY on PC.
Yeah that’s pointless
I find it funny how that I see the Revenge Of Shinobi poster there in that screen shot and yet it’s not listed.
No Thunderforce 3 and 4…Seriously?!
Why? The rights are with sega now. WTF.
What about sonic 3 and sonic & nuckels? and i hope its not just a plane emulated versions of the games, hope the games run at full HD?
