The House of the Dead: Remake confirms ‘gyroscopic functionalities’ for controls, doesn’t rule out a future VR port

The House of the Dead: Remake is coming out April 7, 2022. When the game was first announced, one of the missing details in the press release was if The House of the Dead: Remake would support gyro motion controls and now thanks to a interview by Way Too Many Games with producer and co-producers Artur Grzegorczyn and Benjamin Anseaume have confirmed that you will have the option to use ‘gyroscopic functionalities’:

“We focused on utilizing gyro aiming in the best way we could. For example, multiplayer single joy-con mode with both players using gyroscopic functionalities. It is mostly about how it is implemented, and how many options you have to set up gyro to your liking. From sensitivity to mixed gyro-analogue controls – there is everything you need to make you feel comfortable with it, so you can just focus on gameplay. Of course, when you’re “on-the-go”, you can use an analogue aiming mod, which is not that bad, to be honest.” –Artur Grzegorczyn (Producer of The House of the Dead: Remake

One big missing market I always thought rail shooters (like Panzer Dragoon: Remake) and light gun games is VR ports. The technology is basically created for a new way to play these type of games, which Benjamin Anseaume said:

” I can’t announce anything yet, but depending on the reception of the game, we could have more announcements in the future… stay tuned!”
