Arcade1up, hot off of their recent acquisition by Basic Fun!, have come to the International Toy Fair 2026 in New York City to show off their latest home arcade cabinets releasing later this year. This includes a new Ms. Pac-Man cabinet with the usual Namco arcade classics and a new WWE Wrestlefest cabinet featuring that game and a few other classics by Technos Japan, but the most relevant for us is their 3rd and most recent collaboration with Sega (And probably their least exciting to date): a Sonic the Hedgehog arcade cabinet. This is an all-new original upright cabinet that, so far, features Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, and Sonic 3D Blast.
Despite these games having no prior history in arcade settings (Maybe some, technically, though I doubt these versions of these games will be included), they’re all coming soon to a new arcade cabinet meant for your home arcade/Sonic gaming space. The cabinet itself is assumed to be of the typical build quality as all of Arcade1up’s more recent cabinets, including the others shown off at this year’s International Toy Fair, so you’ll likely be able to play them all just fine here. Any other special features this may have are likely to be announced at a later date as this cabinet comes closer to its release.
I know you must be chomping at the power pellet to get this wholly unexciting new arcade machine, so check in after the break to hear more.

This new Sonic cabinet, along with the earlier mentioned Ms. Pac-Man and WWE Wrestlefest cabinets, are part of their Supreme line. These cabinets feature a 19′ 4:3 flat panel screen and stand at 5’9″ tall. The Sonic cabinet features a battop joystick and three buttons for the A, B, and C buttons on a Genesis/Mega-Drive controller.
Here’s an excerpt from Basic Fun!’s recent press release about the Sonic arcade cabinet and their new Pac-Man arcade cabinets.
Joining the lineup for the first time ever, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, which is celebrating the franchises 35th anniversary this year, will make his home arcade debut through a multi-year partnership SEGA. The Sonic Supreme Series Arcade Game brings the Blue Blur home in a premium full-size standing cabinet built for speed, style, and serious nostalgia. This release marks the first of multiple Sonic titles planned for the collection.
The press release states that this is part of a multi-year partnership with Sega. As of this writing, we don’t know what else that may entail. Could they be planning more Sonic and/or Sega arcade cabinets in the future? If so, maybe they’ll at least consider a cabinet featuring SegaSonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Fighters, two actual arcade games starring our favorite hedgehog. There’s plenty of other Sega arcade classics besides just those that could also use a new home arcade release before a handful of Genesis games that were never intended to be in arcades. For now though, the meme of there being hundreds of different ways to officially buy Sonic 1&2 lives on. This won’t be the final release of these games by a long shot, but it will be the most expensive.
EDIT: A video from Mighty Comics and Collectables has surfaced on YouTube with the host, Laurence, having been present at Toy Fair 2026. He shows off the Arcade1Up booth and the Sonic the Hedgehog cabinet from more angles. He’s also asked more questions about the cabinet to get more information about it. The Supreme cabinets, including this one, will feature stereo speaker grills and light up marquees and coin doors, with the latter just being for decoration. The artwork on the cabinet and the included games are all still pending approval from Sega, so this could be a very different cabinet by the time it comes out, or it may not come out at all. Only time will tell.
Would you be interested in getting a Sonic the Hedgehog arcade cabinet with these kind of games? Do you have any Arcade1Up cabinets already? Are there other Sega games you’d love to see in full size home arcade machines? Put in a quarter for a chance to tell us your thoughts below.
In recent relevant news, Sega have just announced the end-of-service of the beloved Taxman+Stealth developed Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 mobile game apps. Might wanna download those right now while you can, cause the way these games are being presented in this arcade cabinet won’t even come close to topping those mobile apps. Hopefully we have more good news than bad/boring news for the rest of Sonic’s 35th anniversary year.

I’ve got a few A1up cabinets, including their Out Run cab. I’m really happy with them – they’re pretty good as-is, but I especially enjoy modding them with various improvements. My Out Run cab is heavily modded to be comfortable to sit at with improved/more accurate artwork, rumble for the steering wheel, 150-watt speakers with subwoofer, and the original versions of every Sega arcade racing game (e.g., the correct Ferrari sprite in the original Out Run). That’s the way I look at them – a good platform for customization and modding, with nicer artwork and control panel layouts than generic MAME cabinets.
