SEGA Releases Three New Shadow-Exclusive Levels and Content for Sonic Dream Team

Today, SEGA released the latest update for Sonic Dream Team – the 3D Sonic the Hedgehog action-platformer, playable exclusively on Apple Arcade, Apple’s game subscription service that offers unlimited access to an evolving collection of more than 200 incredibly fun games. This update adds three new Shadow-exclusive levels to Adventure mode. These stages introduce a special mission that challenges the player to traverse a larger level, pathfinding back and forth whilst destroying nodes of nightmarish corruption spreading throughout the Dreamworld.

SEGA Announces Virtua Fighter Open Championship

Today, SEGA has officially announced that the first official “Virtua Fighter Open Championship” tournament is underway which was teased last year during the VF Direct.

Focusing on “Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.” , tournament qualifiers will be held globally in four regions: North America, Europe, Japan and Asia (excluding Japan).

Players who win their regional qualifiers will earn a spot in the Grand Finals where the winner will take home a grand prize of $100,000! The first qualifer tournament will be held at COMBO BREAKER in Chicago on May 23-25, 2025. In the meantime, check out the official Virtua Fighter discord server and practice with other players before the tournament.

First Look At DC x Sonic the Hedgehog Cover Art & Pages Revealed

Today, DC and SEGA of America revealed cover art and an interior preview of their upcoming comic book series that teams up DC’s Justice League with the Sonic the Hedgehog universe!

In DC x Sonic the Hedgehog by writer Ian Flynn and artist Adam Bryce Thomas, the Justice League will meet Sonic and friends to kick off an all-new, five-issue comic book series. The new series features an unprecedented crossover event where the Justice League and Team Sonic must unite to save their worlds from a major threat.

DC x Sonic the Hedgehog #1 by Flynn, Thomas, and colorist Matt Herms will publish on March 19, 2025, with a cover by Pablo M. Collar and a variant cover by Ethan Young. Here is a sneak peek look at the covers and pages from DC x Sonic the Hedgehog issue #1!

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Out Now; New Game Plus and English VO Available with Day-1 Patch

We would like to inform you all that SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has officially launched the latest spin-off in the Like a Dragon series and one of 2025’s most anticipated games, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows and Steam (PC).

In addition to the launch, a new “Day One” patch is available for the game with New Game Plus, which allows players to start the game from the beginning, carrying money, fame, and the abilities of Majima and the crew from the completed story save data (story progression will be reset). During yesterday’s PlayStation State of Play, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced a demo for the highly anticipated Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, and it’s now available to play!

Players eager to get a taste of the action in the over-the-top, modern-day pirate adventure as ex-yakuza Goro Majima can access the demo and enjoy it for as long as they like. SEGA Announces SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance; Releases on August 29, 2025

Joe Musashi returns in the latest entry to the Shinobi series after a long hiatus with SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, which was announced recently on Playstation’s State of Play. The game is being developed by Lizardcube, the talent behind Streets of Rage 4. Play as Joe Musashi in a new 2D action platformer that marks the return of the iconic SHINOBI franchise.

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance follows longtime series protagonist and master of the ninja arts, Joe Musashi, who arrives home from a previous adventure to find his village burned to the ground and his clan turned into stone. Ahoy SEGAbits visitors! SEGA has launched a new story trailer for the highly anticipated Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii featuring Pirate King Raymond Law, played by AEW professional wrestler Samoa Joe.

In the trailer, the Pirate King gives viewers a glimpse into the adventure that awaits Majima and crew, and hints at stories untold – and adventures that will unfold.

The Crewmate from Among Us Joins Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble as DLC & New Features Via Free 2.10 Update

Just when you thought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was going to appear in a Super Monkey Ball game, SEGA surprisingly announced that the Crewmate from Among Us is now available as a paid DLC character ($4.99) for Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble through the Nintendo eShop with bananas turning into pizza slices as players channel their inner Imposter in various stages and game modes.

Plus, a free new 2.10 update for the game is now live, adding a new stage for the “BA-BOOM!” battle mode, new customization options, and more, all at no added cost! The update includes:

• BA-BOOM Battle Mode Receives a New Stage – Players can continue the explosive game of tag through a new stage, Scattered Stones.
• Battle Season Looping System – Online seasonal rewards will now repeat, starting from the game’s launch, so those who missed out on any items have another chance to pick them up!

Manga Plus has made an announced that ATLUS’s acclaimed RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio, will be receiving a manga adaptation set to be simultaneously released in English and Japanese.

The manga will be available for viewing on the Manga Plus platform alongside the manga’s publication in V-Jump magazine in Japan on January 21, 2025 with the first part featuring 58 color pages.
