First Alpha Protocol review comes in

The first review is in, from Spanish magazine PlayMania (issue 127). The review is that the game is great, scoring a 88 out of a hundred.

Graphics -> 80 – The exteriors are not so bad but the models and their animations are far from perfect.
Sound -> 90 – Appropriate soundtrack.
Diversity -> 89 – Even though it’s the same game, there are many possibilities when it comes to customizing your character and deciding how to play.
Duration -> 90 – The replayability factor is really high. You can play Alpha Protocol a lot of times without experiencing the same adventure.

Overall -> 88 – A spy role playing game that succeeds in blending action with stealth and gives players a high degree of freedom in choosing how they want to proceed.

Game comes out on June 1st in America, you can pre-order it on Amazon [360 PS3PC] and save yourself a few bucks.

Alpha Protocol, Small World Trailer.

The newest trailer for Sega and Obsidians Alpha Protocol: The espionage RPG. here is the related info,

With a plot torn from todays headlines and more twists than a blockbuster movie, Alpha Protocol brings a new level of modern day realism to the world of RPGs. Tasked with uncovering the perpetrators behind a tragic missile attack on a passenger jetliner, players dive into a story rich with characters and locations to discover an international arms-dealing conspiracy. Through their actions and choices, players direct the outcome of the game as they ultimately decide who to befriend, trust or kill. Out May 28th.

The game looks like great fun, even though the graphics leave a lot to be desired.  It’ll be interesting to see how this game fairs sales wise.

Sonic 4 news blowout coming

What are you doing on Thursday the 20th May? You don’t know yet? Well I do! You’ll be sitting at your computer frantically slamming the refresh button waiting for a sniff of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 related news, just like the rest of us.

Why? Well apparently Sonic Stadium and Sonic Retro will have a joined exclusive community press release with some ‘big’ and ‘good’ news regarding this controversial Sonic game!

3D Dot Game Heroes can do Master System

Made by IGN’s Retro devision. 3D Dot Game Heroes is a throw back to retro titles with a weird, cube like graphical effects (3D pixels, if you will). The game has recently been released in the west by Atlus, on the Playstation 3.

Good to see that retro, especially 8-bit focused, get some SEGA love. Usually Nintendo hogs up all the spot light.

If you own the game, you can import IGN’s Master System characters (Opa-Opa and Mick), download here.

Border Break action figure looks awesome

The above is a Border Break action figure (NOT A TOY!) that is coming out on July 24th. The toy will be exclusive to Kotobukiya Shop online store and retail shops. (retail shops if you live in Japan)

The action figure will run you at 3,675 yen ($40 USD), that is a small price to pay to have a plastic toy of a game you will probably never play. Unless SEGA is nice and ports it over to consoles.

Sonic 4: Episode 1 to run at 1080p

If you buy them on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 of course. This is backed up by both product pages on PSN and XBLA.

No idea of this is native resolution or upscaled. I have decided to drop SEGA an e-mail and wait like a rabid dog all weekend for a response.  I hope the answer is yes.

SEGA pushing Xbox 360 development

SEGA shared plans for this fiscal year already and one of those was software release plans. SEGA plans to release 15 Xbox 360 games, while PS3 and Wii will only get 11 titles released.

SEGA also expects 360 to be their biggest platform in software sales, with 2.66 million units. For PS3, SEGA expects 2.52 million units and Wii SEGA expects 1.55 million units.

Virtual-On 4 Force for XBLA?

Someone, somewhere has discovered something awesome, Sega have recently registered a new websites.

http://vo-force360.sega.jp

Currently the site isn’t ‘working’ there is nothing on it, but the URL already gives away some interesting clues as to what’s going down.

Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram sold well on XBLA and it was recently revealed that the game is indeed profitable. So it only makes sense to bring more Virtual-On too the service.

Roll on Virtual-On 4 Force! This is actually the 3rd game in the series not the 4th as you may think from the title. The 4 in the title actually stands for something far, far cooler! Because in VO 4 Force you can play 4 player! As far as I can remember this is a 2vs2 affair.

At the moment we are going to file this under rumour, but even at this point it seems fairly likely.

SEGA counting down to new game

Their countdown site is titled “next-360action”, assuming the game will be an action game exclusive to the Xbox 360. Maybe its Yakuza series coming to the platform?

Who knows, I guess we can all sit down and throw some guesses out there. Check the site, right here. SEGA  is suppose to be dropping hints via their twitter. Assuming its their Japanese account.
