Sonic and Puyo Puyo’s Special Menu Items at Osaka Mall

A Twitter post announced a collaboration with The Grand Game at Osaka’s Grand Front Complex in Japan with the Sonic the Hedgehog & Puyo Puyo franchises as part of their special menu for the location’s 10th anniversary event. From now until May 14th, attendees can visit the arcade and try out some themed foods like a Sonic latte & a Puyo pancake. Attendees can also take pictures at a photo op with cutouts of Sonic & Puyo characters and can play various games, such as a giant UFO crane machine & a Pac-Man themed golf course shaped from the level mazes.

SEGA and G FUEL team up to release Sonic The Hedgehog energy drink

SEGA has announced that they are partnering with G FUEL to release a Sonic the Hedgehog branded energy drink. Energy drinks are not new to the Sonic brand, as shops like Spencers have carried a classic Sonic branded energy drink for years. The G FUEL drink, however, takes things a step further with a Sonic inspired flavor. No, not blueberry, gummy Peach Rings! Personally, I love peach rings, so this flavor would be right up my alley even without the Sonic association. Sonic’s Peach Rings will be available to purchase for U.S. customers in 16 oz G FUEL Cans at gfuel.com on August 12, 2020.

If there are two things I love, it’s weird food promotions and Sonic the Hedgehog. So when those two combine, I’m a very happy man (hey, I even made a YouTube series dedicated to such things). Jones Soda, creator of delicious and decidedly weird sodas, has teamed with SEGA to release Sonic, Tails and Knuckles inspired beverages to promote Sonic Mania. TheLimited Edition Sonic Mania Jones Soda bottles are currently exclusive to Comic Con, but comments on their Facebook demanding a wide release have been met with Jones Soda replying “stay tuned”. It is worth noting that Jones Soda has a robust online store, so perhaps an online exclusive is in the works? As for the flavors themselves, we have Sonic Blue Bubblegum Soda, Tails Orange Cream Soda and Knuckles Strawberry Lime Soda. If you are attending Comic Con, swing by the Futurism Pavilion at the Omni for a chance to win some.

Too bad Jones Soda didn’t release an Eggman Scrambled Eggs Soda. Hey, the company has already made Robin’s Egg Lemonade soda and Egg Nog soda!

Opening & Eating 15 Year Old Cans of Sonic the Hedgehog Pasta

Courtesy of Justin Todd – whose Sonic collecting can be followed on instagram under the username @treasurehuntingsonic – we have a video unboxing (uncanning?) of Franco-American Sonic the Hedgehog Pasta with Meatballs in Tomato Sauce! These two cans date from around 2000/2001 and are the second and third, and so far final, iterations of the Franco-American Sonic canned pasta. The first version of the can was featured on the latest episode of our own Fastest Food Alive Sonic the Hedgehog promotional foods video series.

What does Justin find when he opens these 15 year old expired cans of pasta? Learn for yourself by watching the video! Follow Justin on Instagram for more Sonic goodness and join the Sonic the Hedgehog Collections group on Facebook, where this video debuted.

SEGA’s edible meat Puyos are selling out

Do you like your dinner staring back at you with a pissed off face? If so, SEGA’s new ‘PuyoPuyoMan‘ (Google translate) might be for you! This meaty edible is part of SEGA promotion for Puyo Puyo’s 20th Anniversary last year. The product came out in January 23rd and already its a big seller. It seems to have sold out at 25 shops.

The PuyoPuyoMan is suppose to include tasty pork and bamboo shoot. They say that the red one is spicy, if you see the picture in the gallery below you will see that they also turned the other Puyo Puyo’s into snacks. A delicious Puyo could be yours for about $2 bucks (and if you live in Japan, of course).

Mealtime Strategy: Make food, SEGA Style

Its bad enough that you probably watch video game related television, visit video game sites and listen to video game music all the time. What about cooking? Can we turn that into a geeky chore? The answer is yes.

Mealtime Strategy blog has a ton of receipts for video game related foods, yes SEGA related foods. Is that some Sweets of Rage? Would be prefect for Easter you know!
